Abstract: Total quality management and innovation are two paths for companies to gain competitive advantage, but there has been debate about the relationship between the two. This paper examines the origin and development of total quality management and the concept and classification of innovation, reviews the impact of total quality management on innovation, analyzes the dialectical relationship between total quality management and innovation, and proposes an integrated conceptual framework: Total innovation quality management concept, Features and three important thrusts.
