Abstract:Open innovation has become one of important research frontiers in the field of international technological innovation management, but relationship between outbound open innovation and radical innovation performance remain to be further research, as well as the impact of organizational coordination mechanisms including centralization of decision-making, formalization and connectedness. Based on the survey of 317 enterprises in South China, the paper gets some interesting findings. Firstly, outbound open innovation has a significant positive impact on radical innovation performance. Secondly, centralization of decision making has a significant negative effect on radical innovation performance. However, it plays positive regulation role between outbound open innovation and radical innovation performance. Thirdly, a firm’s formalization and connectedness both have significant positive impact on radical innovation performance, but there’s regulation effect between outbound open innovation and radical innovation performance are not been supported in the research.
