This paper proposes a new method to describe the scientific indicators of Chinese scientific research personnel and determine the weight of indicators. Based on the idea of "rare and expensive", A combined method of quantity and Analytic Hierarchy Process （AHP）is used to determine the weight of indicators and then classify the scientific research personnel. The division of scientific research personnel automation which can quickly distinguish a large number of scientific research personnel is theoretically realized. The empirical results show that the method is feasible and accurate.
