| To reduce the errors to the largest extent in recording non-Chinese names in bibliographic references, it is suggested that editors should pay more attention to accumulating knowledge of structural characteristics of non-Chinese names and keep in mind some frequently-used family names and given names and special family names. Besides, editors can turn to the Internet to improve the accuracy of non-Chinese names recording. Through search engines and web portals of universities and institutes, editors can find full texts or abstracts of references or personal homepages of these cited authors, which will help editors correctly distinguish family names and given names. |
