| Abstract: | This paper explores three phases of understanding lexical knowledge from a cognitive point of view in vocabulary learning. Through the analysis of the types of word and the nature of vocabulary knowledge, it discusses the importance of three phases of understanding lexical knowledge to vocabulary learning. Some effective strategies are, thereby, proposed towards vocabulary teaching and learning. |
