Since 2001, the first year to start English course in elementary school, the study of English-teaching methods is also increasing. The specific teaching methods, such as task-based language teaching (TBLT) or task-based instruction (TBI) which focuses on the use of authentic language and on asking students to do meaningful tasks using the target language, attract attention. Language is used for communication essentially. Successful development of communicative competence contributes to language use and among communicative competence socio-cultural norms of society is an important part. Thus, in order to find useful teaching methods, communicative competence should be clearly described. In this paper, the development of communicative competence will be reviewed. A Short Discussion on How to Use Communicative Language Teaching(CLT) to Improve Speaking Competence
Though China’s present situation in English language teaching is quite favorable,some problems are still very outstanding.It seems that the communicative competence of Chinese students is not that satisfactory.The Communicative Language Teaching(CLT) approach,which regards"communicative competence"as the goal of language teaching,is becoming more and more popular in China’s English language teaching.This paper shows that the CLT approach does work in improving students’ communicative competence to some degree,through reviewing relevant literature on this approach.However,it is not a panacea to solve all the problems occurring in students’ communicative competence for it also has some weak points.Several suggestions were proposed to enhance students’ grammatical competence as well as the communicative block due to cultural differences.It is also advisable for teachers to be as flexible as possible in choosing the teaching techniques and adding whichever input needed to effectively achieve the main goal of making students both grammatically accurate and communicatively proficient. 相似文献

There are many definitions, views and theories for motivation. This study aims to state expressly what type of motivation factors according to the students＇ grades affects the students of German Language Teaching Departments （Turkey） negatively or positively. How the external and internal factors affect the students of German Language Teaching Departments in terms of motivation will be determined in this study. A questionnaire has been given to the students （freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes） of Trakya University German Language Teaching Departments （2008） to collect data for showing the motivation profile of these students. The questionnaire has been transferred to SPSS program except quantitative analysis. The frequency and the percentage distributions of the data have been calculated with the aim of determining the students＇ views. In conclusion, it is possible to state that German Language Teaching Department students have been affected by the positive and negative motivation factors and the achievements and failures of these students could vary depending on the different reasons. On the other hand, the students of German Language Teaching Department have attributed important roles to the lecturers. Many features of the lecturers have affected the students＇ motivation positively. 相似文献

Present English learning and teaching in colleges especially in Art Academy is far from satisfactory.English,as one of the most important international languages,plays a more and more important role in the international communication.In this paper,the author tries to apply TBLT(Task-based Language Teaching) to oral English teaching.The experiment chose 102 freshmen of two classes in College of Broadcasting and Hosting in CUCN(Communication University of China,Nanjing) as subjects,lasting 16 weeks all together.In the experimental class,the participants are taught with the new method with the aid of TBLT,while in the controlled class,the traditional approach was utilized.By means of data analysis and daily observation of teaching experiment,with the help of the software SPSS and MATLAB,the comparison of both class and of the EC before and after the experiment has verified that the new method with the aid of TBLT has a more positive effect in improving students’oral proficiency,es pecially for students who had a poor performance in speaking before. 相似文献
