The speech act of complaint is an important research subject of pragmatics,which is worthy of research among speech acts.With the development of research into speech acts,some scholars have performed investigations of complaints,but they have done little work on Chinese language complaints.Therefore,it is necessary to make a further study on complaint as a speech act in Chinese.This thesis is based on speech act theory and the politeness principle as an empirical study of the speech act of com plaint in Chinese.It aims to provide a more complete and comprehensive result of participant production of the speech act of complaint. 相似文献

Language has changed greatly in the information age. Linguistic changes markedly reflect on the lexical aspects, for words are the most active factors in language. Netspeak is a kind of special language which is between spoken language and written language. Essentially, as a social variance of the modem language, it changes with the type or style of the language depending on the differences of the language carriers. It is an identity denotation for surfers on the Internet and a medium or tool for them to challenge traditions. This paper analyses the features and word-formation of netspeak. We can have a better understanding of netspeak in the new era with an understanding of the knowledge of lexical changes and word-formation. 相似文献

The role of motivation in language learning has been studied since the 1960s. It is indeed one of the most important areas of linguistics. This paper suggests strategies of motivating language learners and focuses on the role which motivation can play in language learning. The concept of motivation from different points of view is defined, a number of suggestions on how to motivate language learners are presented and the role of motivation based on various motivational theories are highlighted. With regard to the role of motivation in language learning, it is concluded that motivation plays an increasingly important role in many aspects, such as identifying with the target language society, achieving long-term and short-term goals, improving language learners‘ internal and external powers and exerting a group force. It also indicates that there should be more research areas to be examined and a long way is probably requlred to go in future theoretical and practical study. 相似文献

With the rapid growth of the Web, the volume of information on the Web is increasing exponentially. However, information on the current Web is only understandable to humans, and this makes precise information retrieval difficult. To solve this problem, the Semantic Web was proposed. We must use ontology languages that can assign data the semantics for realizing the Semantic Web. One of the representative ontology languages is the Web ontology language OWL, adopted as a recommendation by the World-Wide Web Consortium （W3C）. OWL includes hierarchical structural information between classes or prop- erties. Therefore, an efficient OWL storage model that considers a hierarchical structure for effective information retrieval on the Semantic Web is required. In this paper we suggest an XPath-based OWL storage （XPOS） model, which includes hierarchical information between classes or properties in XPath form, and enables intuitive and effective information retrieval. Also, we show the comparative evaluation results for the performance of the XPOS model, Sesame, and the XML file system-based storage （XFSS） model, in terms of query processing and ontology updating. 相似文献

Since 2001, the first year to start English course in elementary school, the study of English-teaching methods is also increasing. Transitivity system is the core part of systemic-functional grammar,which aims to expose the relationship between language and ideology.This thesis uses comparative methods to analyze the news discourses of the Copenhagen Conference.The study notices that the coverage of news discourses in The New York Times is not as neutral as that in China Daily.Based on the theory of transitivity,on the one hand,it proves the applicability of transitivity to news discourse analysis.On the other hand,the present study tries to provide readers with a different perspective of understanding language and a critical reading method,which helps to raise readers’ awareness of ideology. 相似文献
