A teaching and learning development project is currently under way at Queens-land University of Technology to develop advanced technology videotapes for use with the delivery of structural engineering courses. These tapes consist of integrated computer and laboratory simulations of important concepts, and behaviour of structures and their components for a number of structural engineering subjects. They will be used as part of the regular lectures and thus will not only improve the quality of lectures and learning environment, but also will be able to replace the ever-dwindling laboratory teaching in these subjects. The use of these videotapes, developed using advanced computer graphics, data visualization and video technologies, will enrich the learning process of the current diverse engineering student body. This paper presents the details of this new method, the methodology used, the results and evaluation in relation to one of the structural engineering subjects, steel structures.  相似文献

计算机实验在推进高校信息化教学、培养学生动手实操能力、加强理论与实践结合中起着重要作用。针对传统计算机实验教学方案存在资源扩展性差、环境部署复杂、实验室预定困难等问题,设计并实现校园云平台在计算机实验教学中的资源调控及环境部署支持方案。该方案在2020年春季学期的计算机实验教学中服务500余名学生,单个学生实验环境部署平均时间少于5分钟,提升了实验教学效率与质量。  相似文献

The principles, difficulties and challenges in control education are discussed and compared to the similar problems in the teaching of mathematics and systems science in general. The difficulties of today's students to appreciate the classical teaching of engineering disciplines, which are based on rigorous and scientifically sound grounds, are discussed. The new demands for modern engineering education assume that the mathematical skills of the students in modelling, analysis, synthesis, simulation and validation of control problems improve significantly, which sets a major challenge to the education system. To meet that challenge new activating teaching methods are needed, which together with traditional studies bring the students closer to practical applications. In the current paper two new teaching methods are presented, which are aimed at bringing the control world near the student more easily than the traditional courses do. These example cases are control courses in the net with self-study sections, interactive repetitive questions, problems with complete solutions (both pen and paper and computer problems). Also, new ‘interactive laboratory exercises’ have been included, where the students prepare their preliminary problems first, and after that test the controller with a real process over the net (from their home or from a computer class).  相似文献

Laboratory-based courses play a significant role in engineering education. Given the role of electronics in engineering and technology, laboratory experiments and circuit simulation IT tools are used in their teaching in several academic institutions. This paper discusses the characteristics and benefits of both methods. The content and structure of an introductory laboratory course in analog electronics is described. The aim of the course is the better understanding of the basic principles of analog electronic circuits without the need of specific technical and computer skills. The impact of the proposed method on the learning process is investigated. The evaluation of our proposal was based on both quantitative and qualitative data. Interesting conclusions about the teaching of electronics in undergraduate education are finally drawn.  相似文献

按照综合性、设计性实验的要求,把过程装备与控制工程专业实验室建设管理与实验内容等融合到实验室管理系统中,完善和创新了该专业实验管理方法;介绍了利用雅奇MIS编制实验室管理系统的详细方法和过程,在实验室管理系统信息化后的实验室环境中,学生既可以直接学习传统实验、实践的操作,还可以获得实验室中其它实验设备、仪器的操作使用方法;实验室管理上减轻了实验教师的工作量,提高了实验室的利用率和开放性及学生做实验的积极性,促进优良学风养成;同时为教师提供了良好的实验教学研究环境,为更好地培养学生的实践能力和创新精神,培养高素质的应用型人才打下基础。  相似文献

塔里木大学信息学院以探索和研究为基础,适应学科和社会发展的要求,对计算机网络课程进行了重点建设,在理论教学、实验教学、教学方式等几方面进行了改革与实践,在使学生掌握基本概念和原理的基础上,力求能够反映出计算机网络当前发展的现状并注重加强学生工程实践能力的培养。实践表明经过对该门课程的教学改革,学生的知识面得到了拓宽,工程能力得到了加强,教学质量有了显著的提升。  相似文献

Modern computer algebra systems have wide-ranging mathematical capabilities and user-friendly interfaces, which make them ideal tools for research and education. To demonstrate the applications of computer algebra for teaching, this paper reports on its successful incorporation into a senior, undergraduate, civil engineering course in open-channel hydraulics. Computer algebra is particularly useful for this course, since many hydraulics problems are non-linear and have traditionally required laborious solution techniques. The advanced capabilities of computer algebra systems also make them ideal tools for the design of hydraulic structures.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to describe the design of chemical engineering laboratory sessions in order to focus them on the learning company approach. This is an activity carried out in the classroom similar to the activities that exist in real companies. This could lead classroom practice to a more cooperative learning and a different style of experimentation. The stated goal is to make a design that seeks to motivate students in a cooperative manner to perform their experiments self-directed and self-organised. The technological advances which have occurred in recent years have forced tertiary engineering institutions to search for more advanced and efficient teaching methods. More undergraduate curricula now include the use of computers in teaching programmes, not only for complex computations and computer simulation, but also as an important vehicle for the delivery of teaching material and instructions. This paper gives a comprehensive overview of the variety of research and developmental activities for computer-based education which is carried out in the School of Electrical Engineering at The University of Sydney. The paper endeavours to demonstrate a complex approach to the application of computers in teaching electrical engineering. Particular emphasis is placed on the research and development of computer-based training programmes for undergraduate students, discussing some issues relevant to this important topic.  相似文献
