Nowadays, the role of listening course is changed and listening teaching begins to gain high priority in foreign language learning and teaching. However, the English level of students in China is still poor, especially in the northwest of Guangxi. One of the reasons is that teachers in senior high schools have a tendency to ignore listening, because they think that listening is time-consumed. Aiming at solving the problems of lacking listening skills practices in English class. The paper is written for two purposes. Firstly, it intends to drive the attention of present obstacles in English listening teaching. Most children in China have their English classes at schools, however, they don’t learn too much English they just learn about English. After years of learning the problems come up: the college students who have passed CET4(College English Test) and CET6 are unable to speak or listen to native speakers. Secondly, it tries to introduce the listening skills and the methods of teaching it. Language is not a knowledge but a skill, to learn language does not mean to know as many rules and information about it, but is to practice from the first day your learn it and do practice as much as possible.  相似文献

English listening is one of the most important but the most difficult parts in English teaching. It is not only the main way of acquiring language information , but the base of improving other skills. However, during the College English teaching and learning process, teaching of listening has been the difficult point, troubling teachers and students, So, improving students’ listening skill is the current problem to be solved by the teachers. In this article, based on my observations, questionnaires and interviews in classes for many years, I found out some barriers of English listening existing among my students. Compared with other macro-skills,there are fewer insights about the process of listening and the way it is learnt.Although listening skill plays a significant role in language learning and communication,researchers devoted most attention to language learning strategies involved in reading,speaking and writing.Therefore,knowledge about listening strategies is still limited.This paper will focus on listening strategies for high school English exams in China.Firstly,it shows the background of listening tests in China and teaching procedures of listening in my school.Secondly,the paper discusses the process and the impact of explicit strategy instruction.Then,the article will introduce the definition and previous application of metacognitive strategies in second language(L2) listening.After that,I will employ metacognitive strategies to modify the teaching practice in detail by instructing students to follow these three steps,planning,monitoring and evaluating.At last,the paper concludes with the limitations of the article and the orientation for further study.  相似文献

In this dissertation, questionnaire is the main way to accomplish the research. Some basic information of culture teaching in today’s English listening class has been drawn from those questionnaires carried out by the students from Hechi University. Though the analysis on the statue of cultural teachings, the factors that confine the cultural teaching and the importance of cultural teaching in college English listening class, we intend to help university students have a better understanding of the significance of cultural teaching. There are many definitions, views and theories for motivation. This study aims to state expressly what type of motivation factors according to the students' grades affects the students of German Language Teaching Departments (Turkey) negatively or positively. How the external and internal factors affect the students of German Language Teaching Departments in terms of motivation will be determined in this study. A questionnaire has been given to the students (freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes) of Trakya University German Language Teaching Departments (2008) to collect data for showing the motivation profile of these students. The questionnaire has been transferred to SPSS program except quantitative analysis. The frequency and the percentage distributions of the data have been calculated with the aim of determining the students' views. In conclusion, it is possible to state that German Language Teaching Department students have been affected by the positive and negative motivation factors and the achievements and failures of these students could vary depending on the different reasons. On the other hand, the students of German Language Teaching Department have attributed important roles to the lecturers. Many features of the lecturers have affected the students' motivation positively.  相似文献
