在多媒体图像数据库构建中,需要设计一种有效的多媒体图像资源递阶索引调度算法,提高对图像的实时处理和图像数据挖掘能力,传统方法中采用簇内图像数据寻优算法进行多媒体资源调度,性能受到了图像分布间隔的非均匀性的限制,图像索引调度性能不好。提出一种多媒体图像数据库资源递阶控制的图像索引算法,提高多媒体资源调度性能。设计多媒体图像空间位置放置算法,采用STARMA模型对多媒体图像资源进行高斯核平滑处理,得到STARMA模型展开后的图像特征模型,定义任务相邻边,计算新到达的任务与已放置任务相邻的可重构单元边,得到多媒体资源递阶索引的任务相邻边,进行图像预处理,实现多媒体图像空间位置放置。对每一个元独立地服从一个高斯随机数相位生成像点,构建最大空闲矩形矩阵,存放以当前单元为基点的最大空闲矩形包含的单元个数,得到多媒体资源的递阶控制模型,实现算法改进。仿真结果表明,算法能提高多媒体图像资源的索引精度,调度性能较好,图像调度稳健性提高。  相似文献

In image retrieval, most systems lack user-centred evaluation since they are assessed by some chosen ground truth dataset. The results reported through precision and recall assessed against the ground truth are thought of as being an acceptable surrogate for the judgment of real users. Much current research focuses on automatically assigning keywords to images for enhancing retrieval effectiveness. However, evaluation methods are usually based on system-level assessment, e.g. classification accuracy based on some chosen ground truth dataset. In this paper, we present a qualitative evaluation methodology for automatic image indexing systems. The automatic indexing task is formulated as one of image annotation, or automatic metadata generation for images. The evaluation is composed of two individual methods. First, the automatic indexing annotation results are assessed by human subjects. Second, the subjects are asked to annotate some chosen images as the test set whose annotations are used as ground truth. Then, the system is tested by the test set whose annotation results are judged against the ground truth. Only one of these methods is reported for most systems on which user-centred evaluation are conducted. We believe that both methods need to be considered for full evaluation. We also provide an example evaluation of our system based on this methodology. According to this study, our proposed evaluation methodology is able to provide deeper understanding of the system’s performance.  相似文献

In this paper, we lay out a relational approach for indexing and retrieving photographs from a collection. The increase of digital image acquisition devices, combined with the growth of the World Wide Web, requires the development of information retrieval (IR) models and systems that provide fast access to images searched by users in databases. Traditional content based image retrieval attempts to retrieve images using syntactic features for a query image. Annotated image banks and Google allow the use of text to retrieve images. In this paper, we studied the task of using the content of an image to retrieve information in general. We describe the significance of object identification in an information retrieval paradigm that uses image set as intermediate means in indexing and matching. We also describe a unique Singapore Tourist Object Identification Collection with associated queries and relevance judgments for evaluating the new task and the need for efficient image matching using simple image features. We present comprehensive experimental evaluation on the effects of feature dimensions, context, spatial weightings, coverage of image indexes, and query devices on task performance. Lastly we describe the current system developed to support mobile image-based tourist information retrieval.  相似文献

A variety of abstract automatic indexing models have been developed in recent times in an effort to produce indexing methods that are both effective and usable in practice. Among these are the term discrimination model and the term precision system. These two indexing systems are briefly described and experimental evidence is cited showing that a combination of both theories produces better retrieval performance than either one alone. Both structured and unstructured data, as well as structured data representing several different types of tuples, may be integrated into a single list for browsing or retrieval. Data may be arranged in the Gray code order of the features and metadata, producing optimal ordering for browsing. We provide several metrics for evaluating the performance of systems supporting browsing, given some constraints. Metadata and indexing terms are used for sorting keys and attributes for structured data, as well as for semi-structured or unstructured documents, images, media, etc. Economic and information theoretic models are suggested that enable the ordering to adapt to user preferences. Different relational structures and unstructured data may be integrated into a single, optimal ordering for browsing or for displaying tables in digital libraries, database management systems, or information retrieval systems. This article presents the human evaluation of ILIAD, a program for machine-aided indexing (MAI). It consists of two language engineering modules and is designed to assist expert librarians in computer-aided indexing and document analysis. Our aim is the expert evaluation of automatic multi-word term indexing. Evaluation is performed by documentary engineers. Cataloging and indexing are their principal tasks. They also have a good scientific knowledge of the domain to which the indexed documents belong.We first present the ILIAD program and the two systems submitted to this evaluation, the methodology (protocol) adopted, the differences between the protocol and the implementation, and the results of these evaluations. Human evaluation is divided into three parts: firstly the evaluation of controlled indexing, then free indexing and finally term variant extraction performed during controlled indexing. Finally, we analyze the relevance of this evaluation by calculating the agreement frequency and the Kappa coefficient and propose some future developments.  相似文献
