传统的意义研究方法是从句法或逻辑-语义的角度去理解语言,解决的是语面意义,但这与人们在言语交际中所要表示的真实意义(意图)并不完全等值,后者往往会超出语言形式所表达的语面意义.本文以"言语行为"理论和"间接言语行为"理论为依据,结合相应的语境,对超出of course语面意义的意义(言外之力)进行了考察,认为仅仅从语义层面上去把握话语的意义是难以捕捉到真实的交际信息,而缺少对of course之类含有丰富内涵词语从语用意义和语用作用方面所应有的了解,势必会影响言语交际的顺利进行. 相似文献

This article describes a graduate‐level course entitled “Human‐Computer Interaction.” The theme of the course was development of students’ ability to be critical and creative, within the context of human‐computer interfaces. The aim throughout the course was to expose students to the vagaries of a real‐world human‐computer interface development environment since one learns design best by doing design. This was accomplished through a semester‐long interface development project in which groups of students defined, specified, designed, prototyped, evaluated, and iteratively refined an interactive system with a significant human‐computer interface. The purpose of the interface development project was to give students exposure to the complete process of interface development, not necessarily to develop a complete interface. Other assignments supplemented lecture materials. Student assessments of the course were very positive, indicating that, in particular, the development project was of great use in exposing them to all the phases involved in developing a quality human‐computer interface. The course format and content presented here appear to be a viable model for teaching an effective and enjoyable course on human‐computer interaction. 相似文献

Abstract. This study investigated whether a reflective journal writing assignment would improve students' course performance. A total of 166 students from undergraduate sections of a course taught by the same instructor over three semesters completed the assignment as part of their requirements. Students (N = 317) from five previous semesters of the same course taught by the same instructor, who were not required to complete the assignment, served as a comparison group. Intervention and comparison groups were comparable on a variety of variables including all assignments, excepting the journal assignment. The findings are interpreted within the context of factors such as students' study habits and motivation. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of learning and consequent development of twelve students enrolled in a four-year undergraduate counselling program at a higher institution of learning in Malaysia. The students’ ages ranged from 20 to 24 years. Participants outlined their learning experiences after taking a three-credit semester-long course on Islamic-based counseling, which was an attempt at integrating religion and spirituality into counselor training. An experiential learning theory served as the framework of reference, and a qualitative research design was adopted. Results revealed four major themes: (1) increased understanding of counseling, (2) better understanding in regard to the self and relationship with God, (3) applicability to daily practice, and (4) enhancing professional competence as a counselor. Finally, implications for research, counselor education and training, and clinical practice are discussed. 相似文献

Helping students develop criteria for judgment and apply examination skills is essential for promoting scientific literacy. With the increasing availability of the Internet, it is even more essential that students learn how to evaluate the science they gather from online resources. This is particularly true because publishing information on the web is not restricted to experts, and content quality can vary greatly across websites. The responsibility of evaluating websites falls upon the user. Little research has examined undergraduates’ evaluation of web sites in science classes. The purpose of this study was to investigate on which websites college students selected and how they evaluated the websites used when developing individual positions about stem-cell research. We used a qualitative approach in search of patterns in undergraduates’ website selection and evaluation criteria. We found that students used a variety of web resources from eleven types of websites to complete their independent research report. Students also used eleven evaluation criteria to evaluate these sources, some useful (e.g., credibility) and some not useful (e.g., readability). We found that university students struggled with critically evaluating online resources. Undergraduates need prompts to learn how to critically evaluate the science content provided within websites. This type of scaffold can facilitate useful evaluation and promote critical thinking required for becoming scientifically literate. 相似文献

Student satisfaction with a course is important because it can contribute to student retention, and it can also be used as
one way to assess faculty effectiveness. This investigative work suggests that course satisfaction among non-traditional,
adult students seeking business degrees is positively influenced by giving attention to four specific service-based factors.
Based on feedback from 1,725 such students and 214 instructors at five institutions of higher education, a service-based model
of course satisfaction is proposed. This model focuses on four manageable variables that are observed as influencing adult
students’ satisfaction with a business course: relevancy of subject-matter, faculty subject-matter competency, faculty classroom

AbstractWe build on research connecting teaching assignments to teacher effectiveness by examining the characteristics of secondary grades mathematics teachers with more course preparations—both the unique number of courses taught and courses never taught before—and by assessing whether additional course preparations predict teacher value-added. Regarding teacher characteristics, we find a mixed pattern of results. Both better and less well-credentialed teachers have more course preparations. Teachers with higher lagged value-added are assigned to fewer course preparations. Regarding teacher effectiveness, results from teacher fixed-effect models show that additional course preparations are negatively and significantly associated with value-added estimates. Further analyses indicate that teachers’ number of new course preparations fully explain the negative results for total number of course preparations. That is, when teachers have to plan for, learn the content of, and teach a course for the first time, it adversely influences their effectiveness. Our results are slightly smaller than findings from recent teaching assignment studies but take on practical significance given the frequency with which teachers have a new course preparation. 相似文献

不论是传统的还是新的英语教学思想，都把语言知识。如语音、语法、词汇及听、说、读、写四会技巧的培养作为学习目标。牛津大学出版社于1998年出版的New Headway English Course系列教材对语言的展现。语言知识的学习，四会技巧的培养，课堂活动的组织都有精妙之处，不仅克服了传统教材之不足，而且仍然充分体现着传统的和互动式教学法互补的教材编写思想，其深刻的教学法思想可归纳为以下几点：1、语法学习走出枯燥，成为归纳与演绎并举的发现过程。学生受到激发后，自己归纳出语言规则，而且能在有趣的语言上下文中能充分理解语言规则。2、在爽心悦目的课堂活动中，轻松的语言输入过程在不知不觉中带来了学习者的语言输出。在学生各自英语知识的范围内，技能得到了充分训练。3、语言学习活动多样化，各项技能训练既相互独立，又互相配合，习得过程与学习收获相辅相成。4、教材内容更新快。5、新的学习项目系统化的循环往复保证了学习的有效性。这套教材的编写者已然看到了课堂教学活动中会发生什么，看到学生所需要的是什么，并在每项活动中扮演什么角色，着眼于如何使学习环节自然，流畅，互为依托，以及教师该如何引导学生有效地学习。这套教材对国内教材编写很有启发。如能借鉴这套教材编写新的学习材料，将更大的促进国内的英语教学。 相似文献
