Flower image retrieval is a very important step for computer-aided plant species recognition.In this paper,we propose an efficient segmentation method based on color clustering and domain knowledge to extract flower regions from flower images.For flower retrieval,we use the color histogram of a flower region to characterize the color features of flower and two shape-based features sets,Centroid-Contour Distance(CCD)and Angle Code Histogram(ACH),to characterize the shape features of a flower contour.Experimental results showed that our flower region extraction method based on color clustering and domain knowledge can produce accurate flower regions.Flower retrieval results on a database of 885 flower images collected from 14 plant species showed that our Region-of-Interest(ROD based retrieval approach using both color and shape features can perform better than a method based on the global color histogram proposed by Swain and Ballard(1991)and a method based on domain knowledge-driven segmentation and color names proposed by Das et al.(1999).  相似文献

A color based system using multiple templates was developed and implemented for detecting human faces in color images. The algorithm consists of three image processing steps. The first step is human skin color statistics. Then it separates skin regions from non-skin regions. After that, it locates the frontal human face(s) within the skin regions. In the first step, 250 skin samples from persons of different ethnicities are used to determine the color distribution of human skin in chromatic color space in order to get a chroma chart showing likelihoods of skin colors. This chroma chart is used to generate, from the original color image, a gray scale image whose gray value at a pixel shows its likelihood of representing the skin. The algorithm uses an adaptive thresholding process to achieve the optimal threshold value for dividing the gray scale image into separate skin regions from non skin regions. Finally, multiple face templates matching is used to determine if a given skin region represents a frontal human face or not. Test of the system with more than 400 color images showed that the resulting detection rate was 83%, which is better than most color-based face detection systems. Most existing methods for image copy-move forgery detection(CMFD)operate on grayscale images. Although the keypoint-based methods have the advantages of strong robustness and low computational cost, they cannot identify the flat duplicated regions without reliable extracted features. In this paper, we propose a new CMFD method by using speeded-up robust feature(SURF)in the opponent color space. Our method starts by converting the inspected image from RGB to the opponent color space. The color gradient per pixel is calculated and taken as the work space for SURF to extract the keypoints. The matched keypoints are clustered and their geometric transformations are estimated. Finally, the false matches are removed. Experimental results show that the proposed technique can effectively expose the duplicated regions with various transformations, even when the duplication regions are flat.  相似文献

Diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer have been improved during the last decade; however, breast cancer is still a leading cause of death among women in the whole world. Early detection and accurate diagnosis of this disease has been demonstrated an approach to long survival of the patients. As an attempt to develop a reliable diagnosing method for breast cancer, we integrated support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbor and probabilistic neural network into a complex machine learning approach to detect malignant breast tumour through a set of indicators consisting of age and ten cellular features of fine-needle aspiration of breast which were ranked according to signal-to-noise ratio to identify determinants distinguishing benign breast tumours from malignant ones. The method turned out to significantly improve the diagnosis, with a sensitivity of 94.04%, a specificity of 97.37%, and an overall accuracy up to 96.24% when SVM was adopted with the sigmoid kernel function under 5-fold cross validation. The results suggest that SVM is a promising methodology to be further developed into a practical adjunct implement to help discerning benign and malignant breast tumours and thus reduce the incidence of misdiagnosis.  相似文献

受彩色多普勒超声影像工作设备的限制,彩超图像作为医(疗)学辅助证据一般采用传统的算法(诸如空域增强中的直方图变换或频域增强中的小波变换)进行增强,而直方图变换后的彩超图像失真度过大,小波变换的参数调试更为繁琐。为此,本文提出了一种改进细菌觅食优化的图像增强算法。首先将彩超图像转到HSV颜色空间中,而后利用熵视觉显著性机制对亮度分量进行处理,以便获得显著性点集,将其作为细菌觅食优化初始菌群的候选集合,根据随机佳点理论抽选出合适的菌群点集后,对不完全Beta函数中的两个调节因子进行寻优,确定最优参数,最后将增强后的亮度分量整合色调分量和饱和度分量,并转回到RGB颜色空间中,得到增强后的彩超图像。文中的数据来源于某医院彩超诊断室,经MATLAB仿真测试后,证明所提算法同模因及杜鹃优化算法相比,峰值信噪比平均提高了7.29分贝,且具有良好的主观分辨效果。  相似文献

Model comparison is one useful approach in applications of structural equation modeling. Akaike’s information criterion (AIC) and the Bayesian information criterion (BIC) are commonly used for selecting an optimal model from the alternatives. We conducted a comprehensive evaluation of various model selection criteria, including AIC, BIC, and their extensions, in selecting an optimal path model under a wide range of conditions over different compositions of candidate set, distinct values of misspecified parameters, and diverse sample sizes. The chance of selecting an optimal model rose as the values of misspecified parameters and sample sizes increased. The relative performance of AIC and BIC type criteria depended on the magnitudes of the parameter misspecified. The BIC family in general outperformed AIC counterparts unless under small values of omitted parameters and sample sizes, where AIC performed better. Scaled unit information prior BIC (SPBIC) and Haughton's BIC (HBIC) demonstrated the highest accuracy ratios across most of the conditions investigated in this simulation.  相似文献

In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) was designed as an 'inclusive' qualification, access to which has been supported by providing a 'reader' to some candidates during examinations. A candidate reading age criterion of ten years has been employed by the GCSE awarding bodies to determine eligibility for this provision. In this paper, Kevin Woods, a member of the Educational Support and Inclusion Research and Teaching Group in the Faculty of Education at the University of Manchester, examines the rationale and evidence for adopting this criterion and describes an investigation of the reading needs of a cross-sectional sample of 38 GCSE examination candidates in trial examinations. The investigation found a low level of candidate need for a reader, with candidate reading age and self-prediction being unreliable indicators of this need. Kevin Woods highlights the implications for the assessment process used to determine eligibility for a reader in GCSE examinations and pays particular attention to the feasibility and validity of including all students as eligible.  相似文献
