笔者在河南省四所本科院校调研读者对图书馆迎接教育部教学水平评估,推进图书馆建设效果的满意度,严格控制调研活动质量。定性与定量两部分调查结果表明,迎评促进了高校图书馆的建设。文章根据调研发现的问题,提出评估应常规化、周期化,在评估方案中加入图书馆服务质量量化评估指标,建设高校图书馆专业评估机构。  相似文献

A consideration of federal support of library facilities, resources and services provided through Regional Medical Programs and the National Library of Medicine's Extramural Programs as they relate to nursing is presented. The position of nurses in policy making and their limited role in the programs are noted.Suggestions are made for greater nursing involvement. It is strongly advised that nurses make greater use of library resources and that administrators and staffs of libraries be more concerned with meeting their needs.  相似文献

Instructional librarians at the University of Washington Undergraduate Library and The Evergreen State College Library have received seed grant funding from the Washington State Center for the Improvement of Quality of Undergraduate Education to sponsor two seminars and a small conference on linking library instruction to undergraduate teaching. The focus of the project is on critical thinking, evaluation of sources, and integration of library instruction into the curriculum. Emphasis will be placed on "critical thinking" and the larger context of the particular discipline. A major purpose is to develop a model program for use in other academic libraries.  相似文献

公共图书馆空间分布格局及热点是反映公共图书馆事业发展现状及其均衡性特征的重要载体。论文以第六次全国公共图书馆评估定级名单中的公共图书馆地理空间数据为基础,对我国不同级别的公共图书馆分布格局与热点进行了比较分析,发现公共图书馆形成了依托经济发达地区及全国各主要城市多中心集聚、核密度在空间上逐渐递减的分布格局;不同级别的公共图书馆表现出了差异化的空间分布格局与热点。  相似文献

SUMMARY

Small city libraries often face pressure to join county systems, but the flexibility of being independent permits opportunities for service that bigger entities cannot offer. In addition, the personal touch helps distinguish libraries from other information providers such as book stores or internet services. Programs can be developed and offered on a few days' notice, without a lengthy approval process. Individual attention, such as delivering books to the doorstep of a shut-in patron, is routine. Undergraduate students arrive at a research-oriented university or college with varying levels of experience and ability in using libraries or information. The Purdue University Undergraduate Library has designed an instruction program to teach large numbers of students the essential library research skills needed for completing higher education program requirements and for lifelong learning. The major objective of the program is to instill a sense of the value of information utilization to all students without presenting impossible demands on limited library personnel resources. To meet this objective, the Undergraduate Library Research Skills Program was developed. Through use of several components designed for on-demand, self-directed learning, students obtain instruction on how to logically and efficiently conduct library research. This approach allows students and faculty to satisfy their information instruction requirements based on their personal interest, motivation, and time constraints. The following paper describes the components of this Program and the methodology employed for integrating the content of these components into the existing curriculum. Enhancements to this Program are also described to suggest a process whereby this Program could be adapted to other libraries' instruction requirements.  相似文献
