In this dissertation, questionnaire is the main way to accomplish the research. Some basic information of culture teaching in today’s English listening class has been drawn from those questionnaires carried out by the students from Hechi University. This study tries to examine the correlation between Chinese EFL learners’ accent perception accuracy of and their listening proficiency.Accent annotation data were collected from 80 English-majored freshmen and sophomores.Results show that their accent perception accuracy is positively related to their listening proficiency.Therefore,it is concluded that the teaching of the accent should be enhanced to help students overcome some supersegmental obstacles in their listening. 相似文献

Interactive communication is not straightforward but complicated. Prosodic features play an influential role in English communication. They can be used to signal certain pragmatic purposes in real situations for listeners and speakers to have mutual understanding. Identifying the pragmatic functions of prosodic features will facilitate the teaching of listening and speaking. Listening strategies are important in English learning and teaching. They are highly effective in developing learners’ listening comprehension ability. This paper firstly examines the theories of learning strategies and the uses of them in second language acquisition (SLA) and then reviews various research findings on strategy usage, such as the types of learning strategies used by good listeners, effective strategy training, and the teaching of strategies explicitly. The paper goes on to illustrate listening comprehension strategies involving top-down and bottom-up processes and provide with research evidence showing that using listening strategies can improve listening comprehension. This is a research report on the interrelationship among understanding, memory and oral expression in listening comprehension training. The research investigated 150 non-English majors through a questionnaire in a higher vocational college. The result indicates that the interrelationship among understanding, memory and oral expression in listening classes which are determined by the listening materials and teaching method directly influences students’ listening proficiency and speaking ability. The role of textbooks,as one important channel between teachers and students,has always aroused scholars’interests,but what indeed are the roles of textbook for students and teachers? This paper aims to evaluate a listening textbook that is used by English major university students in China.Three research questions are proposed which are:(1) What are the students’per ceptions about the listening textbook? (2) What are the teachers’opinions about the listening textbook? (3) To what extent do students and teachers perceptions match? In order to answer these three research questions,questionnaires were designed for both students and teachers to obtain the data.This study is supported both qualitatively and quantitatively.The data of this research suggested that both students and teachers have found advantages of this listening textbook,which they may find helpful for their learning and teaching,but they are also not satisfied with some aspects of the textbook,which they think need further improvement.The students’and teachers’opinions to some extent have reached some agreement about the textbook,but students may not be so enthusiastic about the textbook,while the teachers may show much reliance on the text book.This study has its limitations,but it also provides some insights for teachers and textbook writers. 相似文献

This research is attempted to examine universities＇ academic staffs＇ curriculum instructional design in the teaching and learning process in applying the technology enhanced classroom （TEC） learning. The universities have embarked on a costly project to create an innovative and creative learning and teaching environment to promote and establish a state-of-the-art, smart, efficient, effective and high quality education. The teaching and learning culture of universities have great influence on determining the level of students＇ achievement. Seven dimensions of public universities in Malaysia were examined to determine the percentage of academic staffs＇ self-efficacy in the application of TEC learning. There is a significant difference among factors concerning the academic staffs＇ self-efficacy in their teaching and learning processes in the classroom management. Their self-preparedness in using the provided technology is closely related to the experiences and practicality of the teaching materials. This study represents an addition to the extant literature on universities＇ academic staffs＇ self-efficacy in the application of TEC learning. Academic staffs＇ self-efficacy in using TEC learning instructional design is of the utmost important to disseminate knowledge to students, which will also fully help utilize the government＇s effort in providing technology to the additional instructional design, so as to achieve high quality education and technological enhance education to pave the way to achieve a techno-education environment for all public universities in Malaysia.
