Propose

In this study, existing conditions, problems, and expectations in the application of electronic records management in Turkey are evaluated on the basis of the data obtained from 17 institutions. The main goal of the study is to define to what extent the applications in information and records services in electronic environment are compatible with the expectations.

Design/methodology/approach

In this study, data were collected from surveys conducted in Turkey within the framework of the project InterPARES. Action research methodology was used in the study. The survey data were obtained from 17 institutions and results were evaluated in SPSS after their content analysis was conducted. The analysis was carried out in order to identify the conditions and problems in institutional electronic records management.

Findings

Problems in coordination of services, integration and independence of information systems, administrative arrangements, and lack of professional personnel were detected within the institutions, and it is seen that transition to the secure application of e-signature is of first priority.

Originality/value

This study contains analysis data about different institutions on ERM applications within the framework of an international project.  相似文献

Classification is central for effective and efficient records management. However, it has not been addressed accordingly since records management initiative has not received priority despite of its importance in the current information-based world. This study has attempted to propose a function-based classification for managing electronic records at public agencies in Malaysia. The study was initiated by conducting a case study at the Department of Syariah Judiciary Malaysia which serve as a snapshot study. It is a requirement to carry out the snapshot study as the information gathered is useful for proposing a functional model to be used by the public agencies in the country. A function-based classification model is then proposed since it could ease the process of classifying records for retrieval, appraisal and disposal. Function-based classification is depicted since it provides context for records rather than content other than support proactive management of records. The development of model is derived from Integration Definition for Function Modelling (IDEF0) technique and validated by experts academically and professionally. The proposed model is comprehensive, consistent, relevant-scope, customise, and flexible.  相似文献

There is a body of research that highlights the role of data management to improve the quality of data, which in return improves organizational performance. The literature in data management has indicated the five theoretical constructs used to understand the factors influencing data quality, including top management support, capability on the regulation and process management, business-IT alignment, staff participation, and integration of information systems. However, it is unclear how these theoretical constructs can be utilized to understand the antecedents of data completeness as a dimension of data quality. Following that stream of research, the current paper examines the factors influencing data completeness in electronic medical records (EMR). The scope of this study is by only surveying medical professionals at healthcare settings in northern Nevada. The empirical results reveal that resources should be added as one of the antecedents of data completeness in EMR.  相似文献

收集中国管理学领域8种期刊1994—2007年的论文数据,构建中国管理学者论文合作网络,从学者合作与否与论文质量的关系、学者间不同合作模式对论文质量的影响、基金支持对论文质量的影响、学者个人网络属性与其绩效的关系等方面探讨中国管理学者合作网络属性与合作绩效的关系.研究发现,中国管理学者合著论文质量高于独著论文;跨校合作比政企合作和校企合作、跨省合作比跨国合作对论文质量提高有更大的促进作用,管理科学学者跨院系合作论文比工商管理学者跨院系合作论文质量好;有基金支持比没有基金支持的论文质量好;管理学者个人的点度中心度、中间中心度与其个人产出和影响力正相关,接近中心度与之负相关,3种中心度均与论文质量无显著关系.  相似文献

By combining research on interorganizational learning (IOL) with that on IT-enabled collaboration, this study examines the role of electronic collaboration (e-collaboration) enabled through the use of interorganizational information systems in the development of a firm's capabilities such as IOL. Moreover, this study examines IOL as a capability posited between electronic collaboration and firm performance. Finally, we conceptualize IOL as a multidimensional construct composed of information sharing, relationship-specific knowledge memory, and the development of shared meaning and verify the relationships between them. The study provides an empirical analysis of the proposed model and hypotheses by considering data from various industries. The results indicate that e-collaboration was positively related to all three components of IOL. In terms of the relationships between these components, information sharing had a positive effect on relationship-specific knowledge memory, which in turn facilitated the development of shared meaning. Only the development of shared meaning had a significant effect on firm performance. Discussions and implications of the results are provided.  相似文献

As time went on, technological progress inevitably altered our daily routines. Many new technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and cryptocurrency, offer revolutionary possibilities. To put it simply, the blockchain is a distributed, public, and auditable database that can be used to record financial transactions. The IoT, or “Internet of Things,” is a system of interconnected electronic devices that can communicate with one another and be remotely monitored and handled. This paper reviews the most recent findings in the field of blockchain and Internet of Things with the goal of examining blockchain as a possible answer to secure IoT data management within supply networks. There is a dearth of literature in the early stages of both blockchain and IoT study because they are such novel topics. The study's findings suggest that in order to improve their leadership quality to intentionally impact employee performance, industry managers should pay attention to human resource management indicators like collaboration, involvement, actualization, perception, and teamwork. This is primarily because of the inherent limitations of IoT devices and the distributed ledger architecture of the blockchain technology. There is potential for IoT to provide many advantages if blockchain capabilities can be optimized for it.  相似文献

Natural history depicts evidence of the dynamics of evolution, while fossil records permit the examination of change over time. Such records inform us also that change is never easy and does not occur without casualties. It seems that parallel observations may be advanced as the Internet and widespread use of information and communication technologies (ICT) have brought about new organizational forms, entirely new ways of organizing, as well as enabling novel processes. One casualty reflective of an evolutionary era is the dot‐com firms that have gone bust. As firms are moving along the evolutionary path of understanding and implementing these developments we need to come to grips with their design, management and impact. This contribution examines electronic markets and related off‐shoots as a coordination form and macro‐structure of information and communication systems within the electric power market. The basic notion of ‘electronic market’ is explored briefly. We recognize several forms in which such markets manifest themselves. The author emphasizes the role of competition in electronic markets, as well as the newly found role of intermediaries. Electronic markets in the electricity industry are examined in some detail, i.e. the electronic trading of electricity. This market demonstrates nicely the opportunities, but also potential pitfalls of electronic trading of this commodity, especially given relatively recent experiences with the electricity supply situation in the State of California, as well as the demise of Enron. A number of patterns, trading practices and regulatory concerns are highlighted. At the same time though similar underlying problems are applicable in all industrialized nations and selected examples are provided.  相似文献

The use of machine learning for recruitment has become one of the main themes in human resources ever since machine learning software investigated the first recruitment software and discovered that utilizing technology improves their effectiveness at work, speed, and makes the process simpler. In order to better handle employee files, profiles, turnover, data analytics, and the creation of electronic personal data sheets for government service records, a human resource information system that incorporates machine learning has been created. Using a supervised machine learning technique, it was designed to foresee staff turnover. From a theoretical perspective, machine learning apps may be able to perform the same tasks as HR specialists, if not better or faster. Supporting HR professionals in becoming a true business partner and providing them with accurate and reliable advice, the interaction between HR professionals and line top management believes that the HR professionals still has surplus over machine learning, alone. Human resources methods and the significance of machine learning are the primary focus of this paper. This paper's three goals are to (1) determine how much of an impact Machine learning can have on the organization's recruitment procedures, (2) examine the extent to which this technology has been adopted, and (3) examine the frequency with which complaints have been lodged during these crucial exercises.  相似文献

In addressing persistent gaps in existing theories, recent advances in data-driven research approaches offer novel perspectives and exciting insights across a spectrum of scientific fields concerned with technological change and the socio-economic impact thereof. The present investigation suggests a novel approach to identify and analyze the evolution of technology sectors, in this case, information and communications technology (ICT), considering international collaboration patterns and knowledge flows and spillovers via information inputs derived from patent documents.The objective is to utilize and explore information regarding inventors’ geo-location, technology sector classifications, and patent citation records to construct various types of networks. This, in turn, will open up avenues to discover the nature of evolutionary pathways in ICT trajectories and will also provide evidence of how the overall ICT knowledge space, as well as directional knowledge flows within the ICT space, have evolved differently. It is expected that this data-driven inquiry will deliver intuitive results for decision makers seeking evidence for future resource allocation and who are interested in identifying well-suited collaborators for the development of potential next-generation technologies. Further, it will equip researchers in technology management, economic geography, or similar fields with a systematic approach to analyze evolutionary pathways of technological advancements and further enable exploitation and development of new theories regarding technological change and its socio-economic consequences.  相似文献

Good information and records management is assumed to promote organizational efficiency. Despite established management regimes and available technology, many organizations still consider information and records management challenging. The reason may be cultural factors. This study based on a literature review, aims to explore the academic discourse on information culture and to discuss its relevance for records management. The findings show that the concept information culture is used in various ways: as an explanatory framework; as an analytical and evaluative tool; or as normative standard. The research on information culture addresses several areas: business performance, systems implementation, the manifestation of information culture in different organizations, and a few concerns records management practices. The research settings and the objects of study varied, why general conclusions are difficult to draw, but often a positive correlation between culture and performance is assumed. The focus has been on how information is used, shared and disseminated, while the production and management, that is the vital object of records management, has with few exceptions been neglected. If information culture should fully function as an analytical framework concerning records management, a widened and more inclusive conceptualization is required, which also will enrich information culture as a theoretical concept.  相似文献
