In this article I would Iike to suggest that not only is 'role-play' useful in the learning of language but it is essential. Coming from a theatre background I am particularly concerned with language as a means of rem communication. When we are Children we learn our native language unconsciously; we learn grammar by having our mistakes corrected by our parents and by the necessity of making ourselves understood. But, when we are learning a second language our ability to learn unconsciously is impaired by our adult minds. However, we can simulate the way a child learns by learning the second language in-countrg but this is often difficult to achieve. So, 'role-play' must be the next best thing. 相似文献

A new method to detect multiple outliers in multivariate data is proposed. It is a combination of minimum subsets, resampling and self-organizing map (SOM) algorithm introduced by Kohonen,which provides a robust way with neural network. In this method, the number and organization of the neurons are selected by the characteristics of the spectra, e. g., the spectra data are often changed linearly with the concentration of the components and are often measured repeatedly, etc. So the spatial distribution of the neurons can be arranged by this characteristic. With this method, all the outliers in the spectra can be detected, which cannot be solved by the traditional method, and the speed of computation is higher than that of the traditional neural network method. The results of the simulation and the experiment show that this method is simple, effective, intuitionistic and all the outliers in the spectra can be detected in a short time. It is useful when associated with the regression model in the near infra-red research. 相似文献

Omnidirectional imaging sensors have been used in more and more applications when a very large field of view is required. In this paper, we investigate the unwrapping, epipolar geometry and stereo rectification issues for omnidirectional vision when the particular mirror model and the camera parameters are unknown in priori. First, the omnidirectional camera is calibrated under the Taylor model, and the parameters related to this model are obtained. In order to make the classical computer vision algorithms of conventional perspective cameras applicable, the ring omnidirectional image is unwrapped into two kinds of panoramas： cylinder and cuboid. Then the epipolar geometry of arbitrary camera configuration is analyzed and the essential matrix is deduced with its properties being indicated for ring images. After that, a simple stereo rectification method based on the essential matrix and the conformal mapping is proposed. Simulations and real data experimental results illustrate that our methods are effective for the omnidirectional camera under the constraint of a single view point. 相似文献

Social vulnerability assessments are largely ignored when compared with biophysical vulnerability assessments. This is mainly due to the fact that there are more difficulties in quantifying them. Aiming at several pitfalls still existing in the Hoovering approach which is widely accepted, a suitable modified model is provided. In this modified model, the integrated vulnerability is made an analogy to the elasticity coefficient of a spring, and an objective evaluation criterion is established. With the evaluation criterion, the assessment indicators of social vulnerability are filtered and their weight assignments are accomplished. There is an application in the city of Changsha where floods occur often. With the relative data from the PICC Hunan Province Branch, a generalized regression neural network model is established in Matlab 7.0 and used to evaluate a company's flood social vulnerability index (SoVI). The results show that the average flood social vulnerability in Yuhua district is the highest, while Yuelu district is the lowest. Compacted graphite cast iron (CGI) has been the material for high-power diesel engines recently, but its increased strength causes poor machinability. In this study, coated and uncoated carbide tools were used in dry milling experiment and FEM simulation to study the machinability of CGI and wear behaviour of tools. The experimental and FEM simulation results show that coated tool has great advantage in dry milling of CGI. SEM and EDS analysis of tool wear indicate the wear morphology and wear mechanism. Adhesive wear is the main mechanism to cause un-coated tool wear, while abrasive wear and delamination wear are the main mechanism to cause coated tool wear. Stress and temperature distribution in FEM simulation help to understand the wear mechanism including the reason for coating peeled off. 相似文献

Some two-microphone noise reduction techniques that work in the frequency domain exploit coherence function between two noisy signals. They have shown good results when noise signals on two sensors are uncorrelated, but their performance decreases with correlated noises. Coherence based methods can be improved when the cross power spectral density （CPSD） of correlated noise signals is available. In this paper, we propose a new method for estimation of the CPSD of the noise, which is based on the minimum tracking technique. Despite the fact that the proposed estimator does not need to implement a voice activity detector （VAD）, its performance is comparable to a CPSD estimator that uses an ideal VAD. 相似文献
