This article discusses the concept of information system (IS) success in Germany. The aim of the study is to explore how IS success is defined and perceived by a group of managers in Germany. The results show that culture does influence the perception of IS success. The study has many implications for both academic and practice communities. The results are especially important to multinational organizations that standardize IS in different cultures including Germany. The research case is a multibillion dollar Canadian multinational organization which decided to standardize an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in all its worldwide subsidiaries.  相似文献

This study examined the views of information systems (IS) designers from the United States, Japan and Korea on the importance of IS development factors in terms of how they contribute to both the success and failure of IS projects. IS designers from the US viewed Communication of the Project Goals and Characteristics of the IS Designers as more important than did the IS designers from Japan and Korea, but rated Characteristics of the Project Leader as less important. The results also indicated that the IS designers did not view the relative importance of the IS development factors, the same in terms of contributing to the success and failure of IS projects. Results obtained from the US sample were consistent with a self-serving bias, while the results obtained from IS designers from Japan were consistent with a self-effacing bias. No significant differences between the success and failure factors were observed for the Korean sample. It was noted that a self-serving bias may prevent IS designers from learning based on past experiences with IS failure.  相似文献

摘要:本文探讨在信息系统外包或购置商品软件开发方式下,IS外部提供方与IS需求方的个体之间,信息系统双向知识转移的影响因素。首先在知识转移、信息系统理论的文献基础上,形成一个理论模型,假定信息系统双向知识转移受知识相关因素(共识)、交流相关因素(双向信任、双方的交流能力)的影响。然后采用无干扰实证研究方法,基于讨论信息系统知识的网络论坛,模拟实际情况,收集数据进行回归分析,论证了12项假设中的10项,证实了这两组影响因素与双向知识转移的关系。  相似文献

Lack of a close ‘Information systems (IS)–business relationship’ has been described as a potential inhibitor to improving the contribution that information systems (IS) make to business performance. Yet the value of specific attributes of an enduring relationship between IS and business remains to be demonstrated by empirically confirming their link to IS performance. Using data collected from 167 South African and Australian companies, this study examined the effect of three relational attributes, namely commitment, mutual understanding and shared vision, on the contribution of IS to business performance. The study also examines the interrelationship amongst the relational attributes. Results revealed that a strong IS–business relationship is a significant determinant of IS performance. Organisations more successful in their use of IS are characterised by strong commitment on the part of the business to IS efforts, higher levels of IS understanding of the business, and a long-term agreement, between business and IS executives, on IS priorities. Results have important implications for organisations looking to improve the contribution of IS to organisational performance.  相似文献

As a key construct for the IS success model (DeLone & McLean (1992, 2003), information systems benefits for individuals (ISBI) has received considerable attention from researchers over the years. However, much remains to be explored to develop and validate the underlying theoretical dimensions for this crucial construct. Further, a major weakness of the extant research in this area is that most reported studies have been conducted in the context of individual IS application instead of the overall IS in the organization. To fill these gaps in research, we will first present a theoretical conceptualization of the ISBI construct, and then develop and validate a measurement scale for the construct. Drawing from the ERG theory (Alderfer, 1972), Job Characteristic Theory (Hackman & Oldham, 1975, 1976) and other theoretical perspectives, we developed a theory-based TJW framework which consists of three levels: Task performance, Job interaction, and Work enrichment. The nomological validity of the scale was then successfully demonstrated by a partial test of the IS success model using the ISBI measure and a measure of the overall IS use. Finally, we demonstrated the diagnostic power of the construct through an exploratory research model which showed that, while task performance benefits have insignificant effect on satisfaction, both job interaction benefits and work enrichment effects have substantial effects on satisfaction. These study results have thus deepened our understanding on the underpinnings of IS usage behaviors and contributed to the cumulated research on IS success.  相似文献

Knowledge management (KM) is an emerging field of specialization in a number of professions, including Information Science (IS). The different professions are contributing to and influencing the developments in KM in their own ways. However, it is argued here that IS is not contributing to the advancement of KM as much as it should for a number of apparent reasons. The main purpose of the paper is to call on the members of the IS profession to take a more proactive and visible role in advancing KM by showing that KM is a natural and long-awaited development in IS and that a number of circumstances have made KM to be an area of emphasis in IS whose time has come. The paper also aims at contributing towards achieving a consensus among IS professionals on conceptualization, goals, and scope of KM in IS. The recommendations of the paper focus on how the profession could proactively be involved in advancing KM.  相似文献

Library operation and management requires the performance of a number of repetitive, painstaking, labour- and time-intensive activities. Hence, in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness, many libraries are moving towards automation of the majority of their activities. Libraries are deploying Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology as a substitute for barcode systems for item identification and tracking, and this ultimately enables the automation of the majority of their processes. It is apparent from the available literature that research on RFID-related issues is largely concentrated on technical, organizational and implementation aspects, and less attention has been paid to understanding the use and user-satisfaction aspects. Therefore, this article aims to understand factors affecting the use of RFID systems and user satisfaction in a library context by empirically testing relevant constructs from DeLone and McLean's IS Success Model. A questionnaire-based survey was employed to collect data from a total of 181 respondents, who were all active users of an RFID-based library system. The findings from this study suggest that factors like system quality, use and user satisfaction positively influence consumer attitudes towards RFID-enabled services. The concluding section outlines salient points and briefly describes the associated limitations of this research, along with suggestions for future research directions.  相似文献

在文献分析基础上,以流程融合为中介变量,构建基于信息系统(IS)资源的企业动态能力提升的研究框架。实证分析表明,动态能力具有五维度结构;IS资源中由外而内的资源和跨越的资源对动态能力有积极影响;流程融合对于由外而内的资源与动态能力间关系中起到部分中介作用,对于跨越的资源与动态能力间关系起到完全中介效应,而对由内而外的资源与动态能力间关系的不存在中介效应。企业可以通过相应IS资源的获取与积累促进动态能力的提升。  相似文献

“探究性学习”对高校创新性人才的培养具有十分重要的现实意义。中学课程改革强调探究性学习的理念是否为高等教育奠定了扎实的基础呢?本文通过对苏州大学2013级军训期间的832名学生的问卷调查,了解了其探究学习认知、意识与行为能力的现状。研究结果表明,大学新生虽具有一定的探究学习意识态度,但是对探究学习缺乏深入了解且探究学习行为能力欠缺,高等教育开展探究性学习,培养本科生的创新能力、实践能力任重而道远。  相似文献

In recent years, organizations have made significant IT investments, including digital transformation programs, with the aim of enhancing the quality and delivery of services, and creating greater value for stakeholders. However, deriving value from IT investments and digital transformation necessitates, among other factors, a solid mastery of the IT function. In light of this, IT Service Management (ITSM) has emerged as a crucial and widely implemented approach to managing an organization's IT function, with the goal of achieving both operational and strategic benefits. Yet, despite its wide adoption, this approach has been undertheorized by academics, and there is limited understanding of the impacts that ITSM can generate for organizations as well as the mechanisms through which these impacts are achieved. In order to address this problem, this paper performs a systematic literature review examining research published on ITSM between 2012 and 2021 in order to understand what has occurred rather than what could or should be expected. Based on the findings, the paper advances that ITSM should be considered a Management Control System that includes a variety of control practices to achieve greater performance, transparency, and customer-focus within the IT function. It is also argued that these outcomes in turn increase client satisfaction and business/IT alignment. A model of the organizational impacts of ITSM is developed and ITSM is suggested as a subject for further, richer research into IS controls.  相似文献

The business-IT gap is still present in many companies and IT/IS professionals often impute the responsibility for this to management and claim they lack top management's support for their initiatives. The aim of this paper is to show how IT/IS personnel can achieve top management support. Based on more than 50 in-depth interviews with CIOs and CEOs in the last 10 years we hypothesize that top management support can be attained with the business and managerial knowledge and skills of IT/IS personnel as well as with the business-oriented role of the IT/IS department. The impact was empirically tested via structural equation modeling (SEM) using data from 152 Slovenian companies with more than 50 employees. Based on findings some implications for top managers and IT/IS professionals are given, especially for CIOs, on how IT/IS personnel can contribute to bridging the gap.  相似文献

Green Information Systems (Green IS) emerged as a crucial area for research to reduce organizations/society’s carbon footprints and consequently, to achieve environment sustainability. This research paper provides an extensive systematic literature review in Green IS area to facilitate advance research in the area. The aim of the paper is to provide basic understanding of Green IS and to highlight the significant research conducted earlier in this area. Classification approach adopted to conduct the study, and the research area categorized under five segments namely: Green IS concept, innovation and technology, impact of green initiatives, measures and policies, and global context. These five categories were further divided into subcategories to provide in-depth and crystal clear review of literature. Accessible research articles, book chapters and reports from top ten databases Emerald, Science Direct, EBSCOhost, ACM digital Library, IEEE, JSTOR, ProQuest, Sage, Wiley online and Springer link were reviewed. 移动团购发展迅速,用户的持续使用意愿是移动团购发展和竞争的关键,ECM、IS成功理论以及两者整合研究是持续使用意愿的主要方式,哪个模型对用户的持续使用意愿解释力度更强是本文研究的主要问题。本文以移动团购为研究对象,基于ECM和IS成功理论比较和整合研究用户的持续使用意愿,构建研究模型。通过调查问卷收集数据,使用SPSS和Smat PLS分析数据,进行假设检验。研究发现ECM、IS成功理论以及两者整合研究模型均适用于持续使用意愿研究,且ECM对于满意度和持续使用意愿的解释力度均大于IS成功理论,而整合理论的解释度最强,整合研究模型更适合于研究用户的持续使用行为。移动团购的满意度受到期望确认、感知有用性和系统质量、服务质量的影响,且期望确认以及感知有用性的影响作用更大,而信息质量的影响作用不显著。  相似文献
