Men in our society, including college student men, both need and fear personal psychological services more than women. For example, twice as many women as men seek counseling an psychotherapy but young men commit suicide at a rate nearly four times that of their female counterparts. Man are also more severely destructive in other ways, including most self-imposed illnesses and injuries, drug abuse, murder and other crimes, though women are now more destructive in "macho ways" than they were fifteen years ago. The thesis is advanced that when emotional needs and asking for help are severly stigmatized by the machismo orientation, unbalanced by personal sensitivity and insight, the macho dynamic is inherently morbid in the sense that it is destructive both to the self and others. This thesis is documented by statistics, highly expressive and influential literary portrayals, movies and sports phenomena. Implications for college and university psychotherapists are noted, and basic re-educative "outreach" approaches are suggested both to make psychotherapy more accessible and to foster more constructive role models for men.  相似文献

海德格尔诗学思想是在现时代的历史状况下产生的,也是与其整体的哲学思想一致的。海德格尔在现代语言转向的大背景下从语言的本源性地位出发,认为艺术的本质是诗。他对美学的历史进行了彻底的反思与批判,为避免重新落入传统美学的窠臼,他以诗学代替美学,把诗的本质建立在语言(存在)的基础上,认为此在的根基处就是“诗意的”,栖居在本源的近处。而艺术家、诗人先于众人而看到了神的光芒,为终有一死的同类寻找转向源头的道路。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In part 1 of this paper we presented the theory of an integrative geragogy. Integrative geragogy is a basic part of educational gerontology, dealing especially with the oldest of the old, mentally handicapped elderly people, and their potentials. In part 2 the context between theory and practice of an integrative geragogy shall be explained. We will discuss various types of geragogical interventions. First, the binding of personal, social and environmental aspects involved in all types of geragogical interventions are outlined. Second, geragogical implications at the old age have to be legitimated. The several ways of legitimating integrative geragogy will be expounded in order to justify the existence and intervention strategies of this discipline. Third, the paradigm of quality in relation to the integrative geragogy needs to be underlined.  相似文献

The recent conference sponsored by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau on "scientific Perspectives on School Readiness" provided an opportunity to assist in the continuing process of integrating applied research and practice with respect to our knowledge base on early educational experiences. Some of the issues raised by one of the symposia dealing with intervention and measurement at that conference are presented. Next, those issues will be highlighted in a discussion of one early education program begun as a research and demonstration effort sponsored in part by Maternal and Child Health Bureau.
