Most of us are used to the fact that skirts are basically worn by human females. We do not realize that Scotland is the land that has skirts traditionally worn by men and boys. It is, indeed, a practice of the Scottish male not to be embarrassed when he wears the Scottish kilt , which is actually a beautiful skirt.Long ago, in the land, it was common for Scottish men and boys to use skirts. It was mainly male performers that used them. The practice spread far and wide. Later, it gained favour with the Scottish royalty, especially when kilts were used by the Scottish male bagpipers at court. A bagpipe is a blowing instrument. The Scottish kilt is one of the national of Scotland. Therefore, it is not uncommon to see in Scotland a male using it on himself and feeling proud of it.  相似文献

Today more and mere young men say that their parents don’t understand them well. They think their parents are very striet with them and don‘t give them enough space to do their own things which they like to. They even think their parents are out of touch with modern life. So,generally speaking, they don‘ t want to talk with their parents, they don‘ t tell everything, especially their secret to their parents. It seems there is a gap between the parents and their children.  相似文献

Since linguistics is defined as the scientific study of language, it is obvious that such a study would help a lot in language teaching and learning. Linguistics defines the nature of language learning in connection with various linguistic theories therefore it helps the teachers to choose teaching methods and techniques. Furthermore, the process of linguistic study can be summarized as follows: First, certain linguistic facts are observed, which are found to display some similarities and generalizations, hypotheses are formulated to account for these facts; and then make sure these hypotheses; finally a rule of linguistics is constructed. Our students are doing the same. They imitated what the teacher did and did what the teacher told them to. At last, they bear the usage of English in minds.  相似文献

Nowadays, drug taking has been a serious social problem. According to the data gathered by the World Health Organization, there are about 300 million drug addicts in the world, and 66% of them are teenagers. Why do so many people take drugs? I think the main reason is that they know little about narcotics. And most of them are very curious about strange things, especially the youth. They try to taking drugs just for fun at the beginning, and then they will addict to heroin soon. In the end, they will  相似文献

Passage A When we can see well, we do not think about our eyes often. It is only when we cannot see perfectly that we come to see how important our eyes are. People who are near, sighted(近视的) can only see things that are very close to their eyes. Many people who do a lot of close work, such as writing and reading, become near, sighted. Then they have to wear glasses in order to see distant things clearly. People who are far, sighted(远视的) face just the opposite problem. They can see things…  相似文献

Motivational methods of teaching are topical subjects and much discussed issues regarding schools and education. The first question of our study covers student motivation and students' perception of their own schools' teaching methods. The second question reflects on how upper secondary school teachers perceive their roles as teachers, their thoughts on acquirement of knowledge and how learning takes place. The third question treats the subject of how school and education is organized. The upper secondary school the authors chose for the case study is a school that recruits students on a national basis and is directed towards the education of fire and rescue service personnel. The programme follows the national science curriculum and gives qualification for further studies at most universities. The school started in the autumn of 1998 and is known for being successful at working with student involvement, responsibility and subject integration. The study which was conducted during the autumn of 2007 included 32 students from two of the learning groups from the same year and started on the day of introduction of a new theme and finished with their presentation of results. The authors made observations, interviewed and through questionnaires studied how students comprehended the schools' working methods. We also interviewed their teachers and headmaster. The theoretic standpoint is Activity Theory (Chaiklin, S. & Lave, J. 1996; Knutagard, H., 2002; Vygotsky, L. S., 1986). The conclusions are that the students are encuitured into a school's activities that are similar to what students perceive as that of real life. It gives meaning and motivation to learning and makes it meaningful. They identify their own responsibility and cooperative learning as the most important parts. The teachers' own learning process and planning work is parallel to the work forms applicable to the students. They are all interdependent of each other since all the work areas are thematic. The school can be seen as an activity system where members interplay and communication develops a common culture.  相似文献

They either speak them out in their essays directly or indirectly in the light of literary im-ages in their fiction.  相似文献
