RDA能走多远?——《资源描述和检索》简述 总被引：1，自引：0，他引：1
RDA是数字环境下资源著录与检索的新标准,其产生是因为《英美编目条例》(第2版)(AACR2)难以适应大量出现的数字文献。与AACR2相比,RDA的主要突破是采用了新的概念模型——书目记录的功能需求和规范数据的功能需求,并且在结构、术语、资源类型、著录原则上作了较大改变。但是新的概念模型是否适用于实际编目工作仍无法确定,有待图书馆同仁探讨。 相似文献

This article focuses on the challenges faced by the serials cataloging staff at Texas A&M University Libraries following a decision to move materials to an off-site storage facility. The process of cataloging review developed by serials cataloging staff to address these challenges is described in detail. RDA以AACR2为基础,建立在《书目记录的功能需求》(FRBR)和《规范数据的功能需求》(FRAD)概念模型以及《国际编目原则声明》(ICP)之上。RDA的主要目标是成为专为数字环境设计的,用于资源描述与研究的新标准。能对所有内容和媒介进行编目、生成的记录可在数据环境中使用、应用于国际化的编目环境也是其重要目标。推动RDA不断发展的机构包括负责人委员会、出版商小组管理基金会和联合执导委员会(JSC)。JSC的主要工作是制定和维护RDA的内容,也负责RDA元素集合各种值词汇表的开发与维护,以及培训、合作与宣传等。RDA正处于不断的完善和发展阶段,对RDA的完善将是持续性的。期待中国参与到未来RDA规则的发展过程中,使RDA具有更广泛的国际性。 相似文献

Summary The entityrelationship model in the IFLA draft Functional Requirements of Bibliographic Records (FRBR) provides a useful mechanism for reexamining the multipleversions problem in serials cataloging. The model provides a hierarchy of levels of abstraction that accommodates versions at both the concrete level of an exact reproduction of text, etc. (the manifestation level), and a more abstract level of an approximate reproduction of essential content (the expression level). Such a flexible model is especially useful given the expansion of novel version classes, especially that of dynamic remotely-accessible electronic documents. But along with the increase in usefulness afforded by the FRBR model comes an inevitable increase in ambiguity regarding what constitutes a version within the model, and at what level of that model, and ultimately what constitutes a work. 相似文献

This preconference was a presentation of the Electronic Serials Cataloging Workshop created by the Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program (SCCTP). The workshop assumed a general knowledge of print serials cataloging and focused on issues specific to cataloging electronic serials. Presenter Jeanne Baker followed the course content developed by SCCTP, while highlighting changes introduced by the new CONSER standard record where applicable. 相似文献
