Mathematical results are derived, which enable one to find a vector of parameters k0 such that (P1(s,k0)?H)∩(P2(k0)=0), where P1(s,k) is a polynomial in s and in the components of k,P2(k) is a polynomial in the components of k, and H is the set of Hurwitz polynomials. The algorithm is based on an extension of the root locus technique to the multiparameter case. The design problem of coupling networks between a resistive generator and a passive load, under prescribed power gain characteristics, is translated into the above formulation. Given the linear system x = Ax - bu, y = cTx, it is shown that, for a certain non-quadratic cost functional, the optimal control is given by uopt(x) = h(cTx), where the function h(y) must satisfy the conditions ky2?h(y)y>0 for y≠0, h(0) = 0 and existence of h-1 everywhere. This paper is to study the mean square stabilizability and regional stability of discrete-time mean-field stochastic systems. Firstly, a necessary and sufficient condition is presented via the spectrum of linear operator to illustrate the stabilizability of discrete-time mean-field stochastic systems. B(0, γ)-stabilizability is introduced and transformed into solving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Secondly, BM-stability is characterized, especially, the stabilities of circular region, sector region and annulus regions are discussed extensively. Finally, as applications, it is shown that B(0, γ1; γ2)-stability has close relationship with the decay rate of the system state response and the Lyapunov exponent.  相似文献

A second-order phase-lock loop (PLL) that is based on a triangular-characteristic phase detector and imperfect-integrator loop filter is found in many applications where simplicity and economics are major considerations. For many of these applications, digital-logic-compatible reference and VCO signals are used, an exclusive-OR gate implements the phase detector, and the loop filter is constructed from passive components. When designing these loops, the half-plane pull-in range Ω2 is of interest. Until now, this important loop parameter could only be calculated by using a computer-based technique that numerically integrated the nonlinear differential equation that describes the PLL model. This requirement/limitation is removed here by the development of an exact closed-form formula for Ω2, the main contribution of this paper. More generally, the value of Ω2 is dependent on the PLL phase detector characteristic that is used, be it triangular, sinusoidal, or something else. With regard to the value of Ω2 produced, a comparison is given of two PLLs, both described by the same linear model so that the comparison is meaningful. The first PLL is based on a triangular-characteristic phase detector; the second loop is based on a sinusoidal phase detector.  相似文献

This brief communication establishes a two-step iterative algorithm based on the orthogonal projection for reducing order of the high-order system transfer function or state variable equations. A two-step iterative algorithm which has been developed by the authors (1) consists of the residue and pole (or eigenvalue) optimization with respect to the objective function. Here, the optimum residues in the first step can be determined by using the reciprocal basis in the projection theorem. The reciprocal basis allows one to avoid performing the Grammian inversion. Selecting the new basis, the optimum poles in the second step can be also applied for the orthogonal projection. Although the resulting reduced-order models derived from this geometrical point of view are consistent with models of a two-step iterative algorithm, the algorithm is thus a computationally much simpler way to derive the formula.  相似文献

When designing lossless networks, one is faced with the problem of choosing a zero configuration for the reflection coefficient ?(s). Bode showed that if parasitic capacitances are present as well as for power transfer optimization, the best zero configuration is to locate all of them in the left half-plane. Recently, Bode's result was generalized to include parasitic immitances at both ends (source and load) of the quadripole.This work adds a new result to the theory by looking at the overall transfer function poles. It is shown that (a) if the source resistance varies, one should select left half-plane zeros for ?(s); and (b) if the load impedance varies, one should select right half-plane zeros.The pole sensitivity criterion used is the distance between the actual transfer function poles and the poles of the ideal transfer function.  相似文献

A useful identity expressing the derivative of an unknown variable xk of X with respect to an entry in the coefficient matrix of a linear system AX = B is presented. If the derivatives of xk with respect to each entry of A or their combinations are required, then the identity avoids the repeated solution of the linear equations, and may result in a symbolic solution provided A-1 is known. A method to measure the sensitivity in an n-port linear system is proposed, and its relationships to Kron's method of tearing and Branin's formulae are also discussed.  相似文献

Techniques developed in the Sturm—Liouville problem and its Inverse problem are well known in solving the analysis and synthesis problems of non-uniform distributed networks (or NUDN) (1)-(6), (15). However, very few practical results have been obtained from the theory, especially as regards the synthesis part of the problem. In this paper, we show that the chain matrix of an inhomogeneous ladder network (or IHLN) of N sections has undergone exactly the limit process of first-order difference equation approximation of the corresponding differential equation converges to the chain matrix of the corresponding NUDN uniformly on every compact subset of p = z(s)y(s) plane. Therefore an optimal NUDN is proven to be either symmetrical or antimetrical (7). Specifically, a class of optimal NUDN which is optimal on every subinterval of [O,L] has closed-form solutions, and is proven to be both symmetrical and antimetrical.  相似文献

The purpose of the paper has been to present simplified methods that will expedite the calculation of ceiling lighting (Type II). Approximate formulas have been given, which allow ordinary slide-rule calculations to be made very easily for the usual range of variables. Only with rooms having very high domance (or perhaps with extraordinarily high floor reflectance) are the complicated equations of the previous paper (1) needed. These approximate formulas can be represented also by alignment charts, Figs. 2 to 5, which further simplify the work.Either the formulas or the charts may be used to investigate the effect of a change in ?1, ?2, or ?3. However, if reflectances are standardized at recommended values, other methods are possible.In particular, one may use graphs (Fig. 6) or a slide-rule (Figs. 7 and 8). The method of calculation chosen for a specific problem will depend on the problem and on the preferences of the designer. The previous equations and tables (3) may always be used; but in most cases, time can be saved by employing the short-cuts given in the present paper.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel decentralized adaptive neural control approach based on the backstepping technique is proposed to design a decentralized H adaptive neural controller for a class of stochastic large-scale nonlinear systems with external disturbances and unknown nonlinear functions. RBF neural networks are utilized to approximate the packaged unknown nonlinearities. A novel concept with regard to bounded-H performance is proposed. It can be applied to solve an H control problem for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems. The constant terms appeared in stability analysis are dealt with by using Gronwall inequality, so that H performance criterion is satisfied. The assumption that the approximation errors of neural networks must be square-integrable in some literature can be eliminated. The design process for decentralized bounded-H controllers is given. The proposed control scheme guarantees that all the signals in the resulting closed-loop large-scale system are uniformly ultimately bounded in probability, and each subsystem possesses disturbance attenuation performance for external disturbances. Finally, the simulation results are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach.  相似文献

It is well known that the wave mechanical ψ equation leads to the conclusion that the centroid of the wave mechanical electron should move according to the classical electrodynamic equation of motion in which, however, the terms representing what is commonly called radiation reaction are absent. The main purpose of the paper is to show that if there be any relativistically invariant ψ equation which leads to the classical equation of motion without radiation reaction terms, then by replacing the vector and scalar potentials U and ? in that equation by P(U) and P(?), a relativistically invariant equation of motion will be obtained including the radiation reaction terms, provided that the ddt in P be now regarded as ??t + u · grad, where u is the velocity of the wave mechanical density distribution at a point. The purpose is to use the power to produce the equation of motion as a criterion for suggesting the proper modification of the ψ equation to apply in those cases where, on the classical theory, the electron would suffer great acceleration, as in ionization by rapidly moving corpuscles.  相似文献

BackgroundThe aim of this work was to purify and characterize exo-β-1,3-glucanase, namely, TtBgnA, from the thermophilic fungus Thielavia terrestris Co3Bag1 and to identify the purified enzyme.ResultsThe thermophilic biomass-degrading fungus T. terrestris Co3Bag1 displayed β-1,3-glucanase activity when grown on 1% glucose. An exo-β-1,3-glucanase, with an estimated molecular mass of 129 kDa, named TtBgnA, was purified from culture filtrates from T. terrestris Co3Bag1. The enzyme exhibited optimum activity at pH 6.0 and 70°C and half-lives (t1/2) of 54 and 37 min at 50 and 60°C, respectively. Substrate specificity analysis showed that laminarin was the best substrate studied for TtBgnA. When laminarin was used as the substrate, the apparent KM and Vmax values were determined to be 2.2 mg mL-1 and 10.8 U/mg, respectively. Analysis of hydrolysis products by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) revealed that TtBgnA displays an exo mode of action. Additionally, the enzyme was partially sequenced by tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), and the results suggested that TtBgnA from T. terrestris Co3Bag1 could be classified as a member of the GH-31 family.ConclusionsThis report thus describes the purification and characterization of TtBgnA, a novel exo-β-1,3-glucanase of the GH-31 family from the thermophilic fungus T. terrestris Co3Bag1. BackgroundThe preparation of broad bean koji is a key process in the production of Pixian broad bean paste (PBP). Protease is essential for the degradation of proteins during PBP fermentation. To obtain broad bean koji with high protease activity using the cocultivated strains of Aspergillus oryzae QM-6 (A. oryzae QM-6) and Aspergillus niger QH-3 (A. niger QH-3), the optimization of acid and neutral protease activities was carried out using Box–Behnken design with response surface methodology (RSM).ResultsThe optimum conditions were found to be as follows: inoculation proportion (X1), 3:1 (A. oryzae QM-6: A. niger QH-3, w/w); culture temperature (X2), 33°C; inoculum size (X3), 0.5% (w/w); incubation time (X4), 5 d. The acid and neutral protease activities were 605.2 ± 12.4 U/g and 1582.9 ± 23.7 U/g, respectively, which were in good agreement with the predicted values. Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis profiles revealed that the broad bean koji extracellular proteins in the case of cocultivation were richer compared to those in the case of A. oryzae QM-6 or A. niger QH-3 strain only. In addition, the free amino acids (FAAs) in the fermentation product were 55% higher in the cocultivation process than in that involving only A. oryzae QM-6, further confirming the diversity of proteases in the fermentation products.ConclusionsThe optimal conditions of koji-making in PBP were obtained using RSM. The cocultivation of A. oryzae and A. niger increases the overall enzyme activities in the culture medium and the FAAs content, which would thus have potential application in the PBP industry.How to cite: Tang J, Chen T, Hu Q, et al. It is shown that a theorem on essential gyrators presented by Rosenberg (1) and used in (2) claims too much and that the internal structure of the multiport elements of the system must be studied in order to be able to decide whether a gyrator is essentially contained in the system or not. Bond graph terminology is used (3)(6) and a new theorem is formulated, which provides an algorithm to decide on the essentiality of a gyrator by immediate inspection of the bond graph.As a side-result of this approach some new methods for junction structure simplification can be formulated. The significance of junction 3-ports for the concept of the essential gyrator is elaborated by providing equivalence rules for all kinds of junction 3-ports and introducing a unit essential junction 3-port (ES) and a unit non-essential junction 3-port (NES). BackgroundAlthough bioactive metabolites capable of causing oxidative photo-necrosis in plant tissues have been identified in fungi, little is known about this type of mechanism in bacteria. These metabolites act as photosensitizers that generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) capable of causing damage to cells. In addition, these metabolites can pass into an energetically excited state when they receive some luminous stimulus, a condition in which they interact with other molecules present in the environment, such as molecular oxygen (O2), also known as triplet oxygen (3O2), generating ROS.ResultsThe suspension of the bacterial culture of Pseudomonas cedrina was shown to produce foliar necrosis in papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) only in the presence of sunlight, which is evidence of photosensitizing mechanisms that generate singlet oxygen (1O2). From the chemical study of extracts obtained from this bacteria, 3-(4-(2-carboxipropyl) phenyl) but-2-enoic acid (1) was isolated. This compound, in the presence of light and triplet oxygen (3O2), was able to oxidize ergosterol to its peroxide, since it acted as a photosensitizer producing 1O2, with which it was corroborated that a photosensitization reaction occurs, mechanism by which this bacterium could prove to cause oxidative foliar photo-necrosis.ConclusionsP. cedrina was able to induce oxidative foliar photo-necrosis because of its potential ability to produce photosensitizing metabolites that generate singlet oxygen in the plants it colonizes. BackgroundEthanol concentration (PE), ethanol productivity (QP) and sugar consumption (SC) are important values in industrial ethanol production. In this study, initial sugar and nitrogen (urea) concentrations in sweet sorghum stem juice (SSJ) were optimized for high PE (≥ 10%, v/v), QP, (≥ 2.5 g/L·h) and SC (≥ 90%) by Saccharomyces cerevisiae SSJKKU01. Then, repeated-batch fermentations under normal gravity (NG) and high gravity (HG) conditions were studied.ResultsThe initial sugar at 208 g/L and urea at 2.75 g/L were the optimum values to meet the criteria. At the initial yeast cell concentration of ~ 1 × 108 cells/mL, the PE, QP and SC were 97.06 g/L, 3.24 g/L·h and 95.43%, respectively. Repeated-batch fermentations showed that the ethanol production efficiency of eight successive cycles with and without aeration were not significantly different when the initial sugar of cycles 2 to 8 was under NG conditions (~ 140 g/L). Positive effects of aeration were observed when the initial sugar from cycle 2 was under HG conditions (180–200 g/L). The PE and QP under no aeration were consecutively lower from cycle 1 to cycle 6. Additionally, aeration affected ergosterol formation in yeast cell membrane at high ethanol concentrations, whereas trehalose content under all conditions was not different.ConclusionInitial sugar, sufficient nitrogen and appropriated aeration are necessary for promoting yeast growth and ethanol fermentation. The SSJ was successfully used as an ethanol production medium for a high level of ethanol production. In the rapidly expanding size and complexity of the electricity network, automatic generation control (AGC) is contemplated to be the most remarkable option for offering good quality electric power supply to the end users. An AGC system entails highly vigorous, competent and intelligent control technique to deliver a healthy power under stochastic nature of consumers’ power demand. Hence, in this paper, a hybrid fuzzy fractional order proportional integral-fractional order proportional derivative (FFOPI-FOPD) controller is proposed as a new expert control technique to tackle AGC profitably in isolated and interconnected multi-area power systems. A recently developed imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA) is utilized for the optimization of the output gains (KP/KP1/KI/KD) and other parameters such as order of integrator (λ) and differentiator (μ) of FFOPI-FOPD controller exercising integral of squared error criterion. The proposed technique is firstly implemented on 1-area thermal system, then to express its potential and extensibility, the work is extended to 2-area hydro-thermal and 3-area thermal power systems widespread in the literature. The eminence of the method is betokened by comparing the results with the various newly published control methodologies and FPI/FFOPI controller designed in the study via ICA in terms of minimum values of various error criteria and undershoots/overshoots/settling times of frequency and tie-line power deviations following a sudden load demand in an area. The sensitivity analysis substantiates that the suggested controller is robust and performs staunchly under the wide variations in the system parameters, random load pattern and in the company of physical constraints to produce more clean electricity.  相似文献
