This study investigated characteristics of bifurcation and critical buckling load by shape imperfection of space truss,which were sensitive to initial conditions.The critical point and buckling load were computed by the analysis of the eigenvalues and determinants of the tangential stiffness matrix.The two-free-nodes example and star dome were selected for the case study in order to examine the nodal buckling and global buckling by the sensitivity to the eigen buckling mode and the analyses of the influence,and characteristics of the parameters as defined by the load ratio of the center node and surrounding node,as well as rise-span ratio were performed.The sensitivity to the imperfection of the initial shape of the two-free-nodes example,which occurs due to snapping at the critical point,resulted in bifurcation before the limit point due to the buckling mode,and the buckling load was reduced by the increase in the amount of imperfection.The two sensitive buckling patterns of the numerical model are established by investigating the displaced position of the free nodes,and the asymmetric eigenmode greatly influenced the behavior of the imperfection shape whether it was at limit point or bifurcation.Furthermore,the sensitive mode of the two-free-nodes example was similar to the in-extensional basis mechanism of a simplified model.The star dome,which was used to examine the influence among several nodes,indicated that the influence of nodal buckling was greater than that of global buckling as the rise-span ratio was higher.Besides,global buckling is occurred with reaching bifurcation point as the value of load ratio was higher,and the buckling load level was about 50%-70% of load level at limit point.  相似文献

Alternate path(AP) method is the most widely used method for the progressive collapse analysis,and its application in frame structures has been well proved.However,the application of AP method for other structures,especially for cable-stayed structures,should be further developed.The four analytical procedures,i.e.,linear static,nonlinear static,linear dynamic,and nonlinear dynamic were firstly improved by taking into account the initial state.Then a cable-stayed structure was studied using the four improved methods.Furthermore,the losses of both one cable and two cables were discussed.The results show that for static and dynamic analyses of the cable-stayed bridges,there is large difference between the results obtained from simulations starting with either a deformed or a nondeformed configuration at the time of cable loss.The static results are conservative in the vicinity of the ruptured cable,but the dynamic effect of the cable loss in the area farther away from the loss-cable cannot be considered.Moreover,the dynamic amplification factor of 2.0 is found to be a good estimate for static analysis procedures,since linear static and linear dynamic procedures yield approximately the same maximum vertical deflection.The results of the comprehensive evaluation of the cable failure show that the tread of the progressive failure of the cable-stayed bridges decreases when the location of the failed cables is closer to the pylon.  相似文献

Active control experiments on a newly proposed herringbone ribbed cable dome are described in this study. The cables of the dome are designed to have the ability to change length in order to adjust the geometrical configuration and the force distribution of the structure. Thereby, the dome is adaptable to different load cases. To begin with, for achieving the control amount for the active control test, an active control algorithm based on a nonlinear force method is presented. Then, an assembly and pre-stressing procedure is implemented. Active adjustment tests on three possible types of adjustable cables are performed to provide a practical method for the following active control test. The active control test demonstrates the applicability of the active control algorithm to achieve both force control and shape control. The method can be used to prevent failure of the cable domes due to slackening of the ridge cables and excessive displacements of the central section of the cable dome. The experiments verify the proposed control algorithm and the feasibility of the cable dome to adapt to excessive full span load and maintain the integrity of the structure.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new numerical simulation method for analyzing the parametric vibration of stay cables based on the theory of nonlinear dynamic response of structures under the asynchronous support excitation. The effects of important parameters related to parametric vibration of cables, i.e., characteristics of structure, excitation frequency, excitation amplitude, damping effect of the air and the viscous damping coefficient of the cables, were investigated by using the proposed method for the cables with significant length difference as examples. The analysis results show that nonlinear finite element method is a powerful technique in analyzing the parametric vibration of cables, the behavior of parametric vibration of the two cables with different Irvine parameters has similar properties, the amplitudes of parametric vibration of cables are related to the frequency and amplitude of harmonic support excitations and the effect of distributed viscous damping on parametric vibration of the cables is very small.  相似文献

In practical engineering, it is difficult to ensure that the designed pre-stresses of cables have been exactly introduced into the structures in the site; so it is necessary to evaluate the influence of the variation of the pre-stresses on the structural behavior. In the present work, an orthogonal design method was employed to investigate the pre-stressed cables'sensitivity to the suspen-dome system. The investigation was concentrated on a Kiewitt suspen-dome. Parametric studies were carried out to study the sensitivity of the structure's static behavior, dynamic behavior, and buckling loads when the pre-stresses in the cables varied. The investigation indicated that suspen-dome structures are sensitive to the pre-stresses in all cables; and that the sensitivity depended on the location of the cables and the kind of structural behavior. To gain understanding of the applicability of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) cable in cable-supported bridges, based on the Runyang Bridge and Jinsha Bridge, a suspension bridge using CFRP cables and a cable-stayed bridge using CFRP stay cables are designed, in which the cable’s cross-sectional area is determined by the principle of equivalent axial stiffness. Numerical investigations on the aerodynamic stability of the two bridges are conducted by 3D nonlinear aerodynamic stability analysis. The results showed that as CFRP cables are used in cable-supported bridges, for suspension bridge, its aerodynamic stability is superior to that of the case using steel cables due to the great increase of the torsional frequency; for cable-stayed bridge, its aerodynamic stability is basically the same as that of the case using steel stay cables. Therefore as far as the wind stability is considered, the use of CFRP cables in cable-supported bridges is feasible, and the cable’s cross-sectional area should be deter-mined by the principle of equivalent axial stiffness.  相似文献

Stay cables, the primary load carrying components of cable-stayed bridges (CSBs), are characterised by high flexibility which increases with the span of the bridge. This makes stay cables vulnerable to local vibrations which may have significant effects on the dynamic responses of long-span CSBs. Hence, it is essential to account for these effects in the assessment of the dynamics CSBs. In this paper, the dynamic responses of CSBs under vehicular loads are studied using the finite element method (FEM), while the local vibration of stay cables is analyzed using the substructure method. A case study of a cable-stayed steel bridge with a center span of 448 m demonstrates that stay cables undergo large displacements in the primary mode of the whole bridge although, in general, a cable’s local vibrations are not obvious. The road surface roughness has significant effects on the interaction force between the deck and vehicle but little effect on the global response of the bridge. Load impact factors of the main girder and tower are small, and the impact factors of the tension of cables are larger than those of the displacements of girders and towers.  相似文献

研究目的:通过非线性动力有限元分析,模拟多塔斜拉桥在多点激励下的地震响应以及揭爪其在强震下的倒塌破坏模式。创新要点:解决了多塔斜拉桥的非线性动力数值模拟技术,并首次模拟了多塔斜拉桥在强震下的破坏模式。研究方法:首先采用隐式的Newmark-β法求解多点地震激励下的非线性动力方程(图3),随后采用显式的中心差分格式对强震作用下桥梁的倒塌破坏过程进行数值仿真(图4)。重要结论:1.单主梁模犁的数值结果可以很好地反映地震模拟振动台试验的地震响应结果;2.在加速度峰值为4.0m/s2的E1。Centro波时,多塔斜拉桥模型只出现了中塔支座的破坏;3.在加速度峰值为4.0m/s2的江心波时,多塔斜拉桥模型先后出现了支序破坏、拉索与塔的连接破坏以及中塔上塔柱段的单元失效。  相似文献

In routine design of tensioned membrane st ructures, the membrane is gen erally modeled using space membrane elements and the cables by space cable eleme nts, with no sliding allowed between the membrane and the cables. On the other h and, large deflections are expected and sliding between the membrane and the cab les is inevitable. In the present paper, the general finite element code ABAQUS was employed to investigate the influence of cable sliding on membrane surface o n the structural behavior. Three analysis models were devised to fulfill this pu rpose: (1) The membrane element shares nodes with the cable element; (2) The cab le can slide on the membrane surface freely (without friction) and (3) The cable can slide on the membrane surface, but with friction between the cable and the membrane. The sliding problem is modeled using a surface-based contact algorithm . The results from three analysis models are compared, showing that cable slidin g has only little influence on the structure shape and on the stress distributio ns in the membrane. The main influence of cable sliding may be its effect on the dynamic behavior of tensioned membrane structures.  相似文献

Large steel silos are typical kinds of thin-walled structure which are widely used for storing huge quantities of granular solids in industry and agriculture. In the present analyses, the buckling design of large steel silos subject to Eurocode-specified solid pressure is demonstrated. The finite element model is established using the commercial general purpose computer package ANSYS. Six types of buckling analyses are carried out for the geometrically perfect and imperfect models with and without consideration of material plasticity. The load cases of concentric discharge, discharge patch load, large eccentricity discharge, and large eccentricity filling are considered. The buckling behavior of six example steel silos with capacities of 30 000–60 000 m3 is investigated. The silos’ slenderness ranges from 4.77 to 0.35, comprising very slender, slender, intermediate slender, squat, and retaining silos. The index called the ratio of capacity to steel consumption (RCS) is initially defined in the paper, which provides an effective measure for the economical design of steel silos. It is validated that the RCS index increases rapidly with the decrease of silo slenderness, and the storage efficiency of steel silo improved greatly as the slenderness changes from slender silo to retaining silo. The effects of patch load reveal that the buckling modes in the case of discharge patch load are very different from those of silos under concentric solid pressure, and the effect is unfavorable for buckling resistance of all levels of slenderness of the example silos, but contributes a small decrease to the RCS index (less than 10%). The buckling deformations from both the linear and nonlinear buckling analyses in large eccentric discharge are strongly asymmetrical arising from the circumferential and meridional non-uniform distribution of the solid pressures. The buckling is mainly governed by the non-uniform distribution of the solid pressure other than other influential factors such as the weld imperfection, geometrical and material nonlinearity, compared with the load case of concentric discharge. The RCS index of example silos under large eccentric discharge is reduced substantially, and is approximately half that of silos under concentric discharge. The linear and nonlinear buckling deformations in large eccentric filling are also asymmetrical, deviating from the center to the side where the most friction locates to the highest wall contact. The RCS index of example silos under large eccentric filling is also reduced substantially, and is approximately 70% that of silos under concentric discharge. This reveals that the large eccentricity both in discharging and filling could result in a strong decrease of storage efficiency of steel silos.  相似文献

为了对运营期斜拉桥安全性进行评估,提出了评估斜拉索安全性的方法.考虑Daniels效应和断丝概率提出斜拉索强度模型与基于斜拉索运营期安全系数的大跨度斜拉桥可靠度评估方法.作为模型的应用验证,分析了宁波招宝山斜拉桥最长边索,即第25号索在不同检测期的安全性,并调查了不同的参数对安全概率的影响.分析结果表明:斜拉索Daniels效应不可忽略;运营期斜拉索的退化可以通过线性增长的索内断丝率来模拟;考虑斜拉桥拉索退化过程的随机性评估运营期斜拉桥拉索安全水平的方法是有效的.  相似文献

Based on the characteristics of an L-shaped column composed of concrete-filled square steel tubes, the axial compression experiment and nonlinear finite element analysis were carried out to study the mechanical property of the L-shaped column. The load-displacement curve for the L-shaped column, the deflection and load-strain curves for the mono columns were obtained by the axial compression experiment. The results show that the L-shaped column exhibits a flexural-torsional buckling failure mode. The numerical simulation by the finite element analysis shows that the bearing capacity and failure mode are in accordance with those of the axial compression experiment and the feasi- bility of the finite element analysis is proved. For the calculation of the bearing capacity of the L-shaped column com- posed of concrete-filled square steel tubes, an analytical method is proposed based on the theory of the elastic stability and spatial truss model. The results of the analytical method are in good agreement with those of the axial compression experiment and the finite element analysis.  相似文献

A double strut cable dome structural system was presented to improve the mechanical behaviour of a cable dome. This structure has good stability and is convenient to construct. To investigate its construction method and static performance, a structural model with a 6-m diameter was designed. From the nodal equilibrium equation, the calculation formulas for the prestress distribution with self-weight considered were deduced. Two types of construction methods, namely, assembling at high altitude and integral lifting, were adopted in the shape-forming process of the double strut cable dome, monitoring the internal force of the cable-strut components and the structural deformation. According to loading tests under full-span load and half-span load, the static behaviour of the structure was obtained and compared with the results from finite element analysis. Using the formulas deduced in this paper, the actual initial prestress considering self-weight for a double strut cable dome can be obtained accurately. This structure was suitable for tensioning the outer diagonal cables to apply prestress. Combined with the construction method for integral lifting, the difficulty and workload of the construction process can clearly be reduced, making the structure favourable for engineering application. Under an external load, the internal force of the ridge cables and inner diagonal cables decreases and the internal force of the other components increases. The results of the model tests were in good agreement with those of the finite element analysis.  相似文献

The life of shipboard cables will decrease due to the complex aging processes. In terms of the safety perspective, remaining life prediction of the cable is essential to maintain a reliable operation. In this paper, firstly, based on Arrhenius equation, residual life of new styrene-butadiene cable is calculated; result indicates that the degradation rate which changes with time is proportional to thermal temperature. Then second order dynamic model is adopted into the residual life prediction, combined with the time-temperature superposition method (TTSP), and a new residual life model is proposed. According to the accelerated thermal aging experiment data and Arrhenius equation, TTSP method demonstrates to be an efficient way for life prediction, and life at normal temperature can be estimated by this model. In order to monitor the state of styrene-butadiene cable more accurately, an improved residual life model based on equivalent environment temperature of cable is proposed, and life of cable under real operation is analyzed. Result indicates that this model is credible and reliable, and it provides an important theoretical base for residual life of cables.  相似文献

为了检测斜拉桥圆柱形悬索内部钢丝情况,设计了一种新型的双边轮式悬索爬升机器人,简述了其机械结构及运动方式,建立了爬升模型,分析了其机构的静态特性,并以直径为139 mm的悬索为例给出了相关设计参数.为使机构在电路系统故障时能安全回收,提出了一种基于反电动势理论的安全节能回收方法,应用曲柄滑块驱动气缸设计了气体阻尼机构,以消耗机构下降时因重力作用产生的多余动能,并建立了机构数学模型来仿真下降速度.试验结果表明,所设计的机器人能携带3.5 kg重物沿直径为65~205 mm的悬索平稳运行,满足了悬索检测的实用要求.  相似文献
