On the analysis of the current learning situation of the students from higher vocational and technical institutions, this paper proposes the way of using original English films in language teaching. It has indicated the advantages of English original films, such as can to motivate the students to learn by their willing, to create real-life, to enlarge students’view and to improve the competence of learning. In the present competitive society, English becomes more and more important, and how to master English becomes one popular topic for everyone. English is a communicative tool, however, traditional teaching method used in English teaching is not very suitable, and the traditional teaching is very boring and inefficient. The traditional teaching does not give students a real world situation to practice their English speaking and it does not cultivate their learning interests. This phenomenon continued in the students English learning for many years, and students can not use the English to communicate in their daily life. This phenomenon appears in oral English teaching in college schools as well, In order to solve the problems, the paper firstly describes the problem of English spoken teaching in college schools in Chi na. And then it analyzes the performance of problem and the cause of problems. The aim is that we find the problem and deficiency of Eng lish spoken teaching in college schools and use Role play as an effective way to solve these problems. Abstrct: According to College English Curriculum Requirements(2007), reading is the main training aim of our college English teaching. And for the college graduates, reading is the main way through which they obtain information needed in their specialty.Most often, students think their problem in reading is vocabulary, which is not necessarily true. Sometimes even the readers look up all the new words, it is still hard for them to understand the text exactly and thoroughly. Though vocabulary plays an important role in reading comprehension, it may not be the biggest hindrance on our way of correct comprehending. English reading teaching shouldn’t be confined to the teaching of vocabulary or sentences but should develop students’ ability to analyze text beyond sentence level. It’s impossible to cover all the aspects of discourse analysis in one article and since cohesion is important and basic knowledge of discourse analysis, we will concentrate on the cohesive functions of discourse in English reading in this article.  相似文献

English listening is one of the most important but the most difficult parts in English teaching. It is not only the main way of acquiring language information , but the base of improving other skills. However, during the College English teaching and learning process, teaching of listening has been the difficult point, troubling teachers and students, So, improving students’ listening skill is the current problem to be solved by the teachers. English learning has been a fashion not only in college, but also in the society. However. how to let the students learn English in an efficient and interesting way is still a hard nut to those teachers. It’s much more than a performance that learners can experience the real life in the classroom. Through its use in the pre-playing,whileplaying and post-playing stages in universities,its effects will be presented in an overall way: students can gain more communication skills in the mini society atmosphere,and the accuracy and fluency of their oral English will be improved. Reading is a complex process of communication between writer and reader.Relevance theory proposes that communication is an ostensive-inferential process from the cognitive perspective.The thesis studies the English reading teaching approach for higher vocational students and applies it to the question type of reading comprehension test in PRETCO-A.It proposes three research questions in view of actual condition of teaching English reading.By the questionnaires and tests,the relevant data are collected,analyzed and discussed.Three research results are proved to be effective in reading teaching.  相似文献
