This essay presents an English teacher’s inquiry into her professional practice in an institutional setting that is heavily regulated by standards-based reforms. Rather than something external to her, she sees those reforms as part of an internal conflict that affects her capacity to be fully responsive to her students. In dialogue with a colleague, she writes stories that reaffirm the deeply relational character of her work, both as an ethically responsive stance and as a means to understand the socially mediated character of her everyday world. She attempts to find alternative ways of seeing and accounting for her work than the reified mentality of standards-based reforms, positing a world that is relational, rather than compartmentalised, where our chief responsibility as teachers is to cultivate a sensitivity towards others around us, rather than continually being compelled to classify and judge them.  相似文献

在明清小说中武则天是一个颇受作者关注的人物。小说家在塑造武则天形象时,大多着眼于她的残忍、荒淫和嗜杀,突出了她的政治野心,因此,武则天基本上是以"中淫外酷"的负面形象出现的。小说家削弱了武则天作为一代女皇的政治才能、远见卓识,淡化了她的历史功绩,将这一形象妖魔化或神化,在前人的基础上,小说家更加强了对武则天"牝鸡司晨"、"狐媚惑主"和"淫秽宫闱"的诋毁和道德批判。由于叙事角度不同,明清小说中的武则天形象更加复杂、多样。  相似文献

Professor Lesley Parker’s career has moved from teaching and advising graduate students at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia to leadership roles and advocacy positions in state and national governments and in international organizations. Throughout her distinguished career, she has been committed to social justice, particularly in gender equity. Indeed, that commitment infuses her professional contributions as teacher, advisor, administrator, and policy maker. In this Key Contribution, many of her colleagues describe their admiration for her as well as provide information that helps the reader place her work in a national and an international perspective. She has received many of Australia’s highest honors, and she continues to contribute to her university, her state, and her nation. A preservice teacher's personal beliefs regarding teaching are confronted by her experiences during a yearlong internship in an inner-city school. Analysis of four interviews, 12 written reflections, and seven transcribed group discussions revealed a sense of the culture shock Mary experienced on entering the inner-city school. Her narratives described a journey from initial culture shock, eliciting both emotional and cognitive dissonance, to cultural assimilation as she adapted to her concerns about her students, her worries about getting along with her mentoring teacher, and her doubts about her own abilities.  相似文献

<红字>是纳撒尼尔·霍桑所著的一部关于道德、文化、宗教的经典作品,也是一部关于精神分析的有先见之明的杰作.本文拟从精神分析批评学的角度出发,以弗洛伊德的力比多理论为依据,指出白兰力比多升华的原因主要在于清教社会的束缚及其健全人格所提供的保障;白兰力比多升华的途径则在于将早期力比多升华成为爱的信念、艺术美的追求及对人们的博爱;白兰力比多升华的结果是实现了自己本能冲动的适当满足,也避免了自己力比多与社会的冲突,为社会文明发展做出了自己的贡献,从而最终成为人们认可和尊重的真正女主角.  相似文献
