This article examines the sustainability of newsroom change through the lens of an ambitious change project called “Readers First” at a group of Australian regional newspapers. Survey data were gathered over 3 consecutive years from rank-and-file newsworkers who participated in the program. It was found that, contrary to the problems usually associated with support for change programs, Readers First received sustained attitudinal support from newsworkers. Agreeing with the goals for change, feeling involved in change, and believing that managers managed change well were the best predictors of their support for change. Training in change had no discernible effect on support. Professionalism had its limits as a predictor of support.  相似文献

Building on the results of a qualitative survey of academic librarians in Canada and the U.S., this study focuses on the learning and subsequent change following professional development events (PDE) dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Carried out collaboratively by a group of American and Canadian researchers, the study is guided by hermeneutic phenomenology and the concept of retrospective reflection and builds on the critical incident approach supporting the survey design. Reporting on two large clusters of findings – those related to personal learning and change and those related to organizational change – the study highlights five types of learning and subsequent change that result from DEI PDEs: cognitive learning and change (awareness); behavioral learning and change (action); personal learning and change (self-awareness and self-improvement); social learning and change (interaction); and affective/emotional learning and change. The findings are mapped to the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) of change, which creates a foundation for making recommendations for future mixed methods research and impactful PDE design. The study records both achievements and regrettable omissions in the current PDE offerings, in the hopes that noticed gaps and existing shortcomings will be remedied moving forward.  相似文献

[目的/意义]信息框架效应对个体行为改变决策具有普遍影响,然而涉及信息框架对行为改变过程的影响研究较少。为确定信息框架效应在行为改变过程中的应用价值,本研究对该情境下信息框架效应的产生和其对行为改变各阶段的影响机制进行了深入探讨。[方法/过程]以健康行为改变为例,在基于跨理论模型的阶段式行为改变情境下,通过分析框架效应产生的机制,确定框架效应产生的调节因素和中介变量,进而探讨信息框架对处于不同变化阶段的个体决策倾向的影响,以及这种决策倾向如何影响行为改变的进程。[结果/结论]提出健康行为改变不同阶段的信息框架效应概念模型,为提高不良行为改变的信息干预方案水平和个体健康管理水平提供一定的科学依据。  相似文献

This paper examines the impact of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology on organizational change in local governments in the United States. The bureaucratic and e-Government paradigms are examined with regards to this technology impacting organizational change. Survey evidence on the adoption of CRM is examined from the perceptions of Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) in cities and counties that have adopted this technology. Survey results indicate that both the e-Government and bureaucratic paradigms impacted organizational change from CRM adoption. Factor analysis shows that management change, efficiency change, and leadership and organizational change are the three most common factors in the models. Regression results indicate that local governments that score high on these factors are more likely to take an enterprise approach in the adoption of CRM for their local government. The results of this study imply that organizational change is not just influenced by the more recent e-Government paradigm, but traditional attributes of the bureaucratic model are present as well.  相似文献

Dualities play an important role in creating the conditions for change and managing planned change initiatives. Building on Seo, Putnam, and Bartunek's (2003) work, this study focuses on the dualities associated with managing change processes. A case study of a planned change process called the Circle of Prosperity Initiative, a multi-stakeholder dialogue designed to bring information technology to Indian country, was analyzed. Three dualities emerged regarding the structuring and management of the change initiative: (1) inclusion–exclusion, (2) preservation–change, and (3) centrality–parity. The findings suggested that these dualities were managed using Seo et al.'s (2003) strategy of connection. Notably, the strategy of connection relied heavily on the ability of change agents to set context within and between the different phases of the initiative and involved three specific practices for setting context setting: (1) commonplacing, (2) bounded mutuality, and (3) reflexive positioning.  相似文献

��[Purpose/significance] We adopted experiment and questionnaires to investigate the difference in the change of health risk perception and health behavior change decision of individuals at different stages of the healthy behavior change process after receiving different framed information, in order to determine which information can more effectively improve their awareness of risks and promote the formation of change decisions, and to provide a basis for the longitudinal information intervention of adverse behavior change in the next step.[Method/process] Based on the theoretical model proposed in the previous study, we selected eating breakfast on time as the special case of the study, conducted cross-sectional investigation and study on the subjects by using the self-made questionnaire, and conducted statistical analysis on the data obtained, and analyzed and discussed the results with statistical differences, so as to obtain feasible intervention opinions.[Result/conclusion] In the early stages of the health behavior change (i.e. the precontemplation and the contemplation), negative frame information more helps individuals to increase risk perception and promote the formation of behavior change decision, and positive framework information more helps individuals feel tendency of decision-making of entering to the next stage in the mid-late in health behavior change while there is no difference in the impact of the frame on health risk perception (i.e. the preparation and the action).But the individual is not susceptible to the influence of the framed information at end-stage phase of health behavior change (the maintenance).  相似文献
