Cognitive scientists have studied internal cognitive structures, processes, and systems for decades in order to understand how they function in human learning. Nevertheless, questions concerning the diagnosis of changes in these cognitive structures while solving inductive reasoning tasks are still being scrutinized. This paper reports findings from an experimental study in which 64 participants in three experimental groups solved tasks at ten measurement points. We were able to illuminate changes of cognitive structures and found significant differences between the treatments. The results also indicate that supportive information is an important aid for developing cognitive structures while solving inductive reasoning tasks.  相似文献

The paper addresses the paradox of value-free science and the need for value-oriented management education. Taking the values discussion in the German management community as an example, we identify two stereotypes in management literature: an allegedly value-free scientist who limits responsibility to economic aims and a value-laden academic who accepts responsibilities for societal aims and who aims to influence students’ values. These stereotypes are then challenged against empirical data from a global survey of management academics. While the stereotypes are shown to be of only limited relevance, five clusters of management academics are identified based on their economic values, their social values and their intention to influence their students’ values. As determinants of cluster attribution, cultural environment and discipline prove the most influential on value differences in the global sample. Gender, in contrast, has no significant impact. Finally, implications for higher education institutions are derived that may help to cope with values more consciously and more professionally.  相似文献

This study reports an intervention to initiate environmental learning and facilitate pro-environmental behaviour. The purpose was to examine the impact of ambient learning displays on energy consumption and conservation at the workplace, more specifically the evaluation of learning outcome and behaviour change. Using a quasi-experimental design, the empirical study was conducted among employees working at a university campus. For the experimental treatments, ambient learning display prototypes were varied on two design dimensions, namely representational fidelity and notification level. The results do not provide clear evidence that the design of the displays influences learning outcome or that the displays lead to pro-environmental behaviour change. Nevertheless, the sole deployment of the display prototypes eased the comprehension of the information provided and lowered the need for additional information. Thus, ambient learning displays provide a promising framework in the context of environmental learning and beyond.  相似文献

This study adds to the literature on household sector (HHS) innovation by investigating how user and professional designer teams differ in their ability to translate knowledge diversity into collective creative output. We test our hypotheses on a unique data set of more than 5,000 board game design projects conducted by either teams of professional game designers or by hobbyist (user) designers. Our study lends support for the notion that knowledge diversity is a double-edged sword that has opposing effects on the two dimensions of team creativity, novelty and usefulness. We argue and find that teams composed of self-rewarded users in the household sector are better able than teams of professionals to translate the informational benefits of knowledge diversity into novel concepts and game designs. Finally, we find that user teams are in general more likely to create truly creative (i.e. novel and useful) game designs. This particular result emphasizes the relevance of research on HHS innovation and shows that user designers from the HHS are able to conduct collective development work more effectively than teams of professional designers.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung.   Moderne Software-Entwicklungsumgebungen arbeiten mit einer Vielzahl von Editoren und Anzeigewerkzeugen, wobei der Informationsgehalt mehrerer Fenster überlappen kann. Wenn nun irgendein Werkzeug Dokumente ?ndert, müssen alle betroffenen Anzeigen korrigiert werden. Hierzu werden heute in mehrbenutzerf?higen, verteilten Software-Entwicklungsumgebungen überwiegend Kommunikationssysteme wie z.B. ToolTalk™ eingesetzt. Diese verursachen einen relativ hohen Programmier- und Laufzeitaufwand und sind insofern unsicher, als Anzeigewerkzeuge nicht von allen Ver?nderungen an den Daten informiert werden, u.a. von ?nderungen durch nicht integrierte Werkzeuge. Dieses Papier stellt einen Benachrichtigungsmechanismus für Software-Entwicklungsumgebungen vor, der effizient, leicht benutzbar und sicher ist, sowie seine Implementierung im Objektmanagementsystem H-PCTE.
