Use of the Missouri children's picture series with school-referred children

The Missouri Children's Picture Series was administered to two groups of teacher-referred male children: one group that was referred for learning problems and the other for behavioral problems. The present study is a replication of an earlier effort by Meacham and Peckham (1978) that surveyed practicing school psychologists to obtain their perceptions regarding the congruency between the role functions of assessment, interpretation, remediation, consultation, change agent, and research and training, present job, preferred job, and competence. Overall, results indicate a greater congruency between the training and practice of school psychologists. Other findings are discussed in terms of their implications for the training and practice of school psychology.  相似文献   

A model for increasing decision making potential through standardized test scores

The development of a model for more effective usage of group administered standardized tests is developed. The primary assumption is that summary data from these instruments are not used in curricular decisions for groups larger than the classroom unit, and a method is illustrated which uses item groupings from subtests allowing a more effective use of the data for program and curricular decisions. Several cautions are presented with respect to data usage in the recommended fashion, i. e., item data usually have low reliability coefficients, and criterion levels which identify problems in the curriculum are difficult to establish.  相似文献

Blood plasma contains biomarkers and substances that indicate the physiological state of an organism, and it can be used to diagnose various diseases or body condition. To improve the accuracy of diagnostic test, it is required to obtain the high purity of blood plasma. This paper presents a low-cost, disposable microfluidics device for blood plasma extraction using magnetophoretic behaviors of blood cells. This device uses alternating magnetophoretic capture modes to trap and separate paramagnetic and diamagnetic cells away from blood plasma. The device system is composed of two parts, a disposable microfluidics chip and a non-disposable (reusable) magnetic field source. Such modularized device helps the structure of the disposable part dramatically simplified, which is beneficial for low-cost mass production. A series of numerical simulation and parametric study have been performed to describe the mechanism of blood cell separation in the microchannel, and the results are discussed. Furthermore, experimental feasibility test has been carried out in order to demonstrate the blood plasma extraction process of the proposed device. In this experiment, pure blood plasma has been successfully extracted with yield of 21.933% from 75 μl 1:10 dilution of deoxygenated blood.  相似文献

In this paper, key aspects of Clark's conceptualisation of organisational pathways of transformation are identified, speaking to its theoretical and empirical contributions to higher education studies, policy and practice.
