During the last 3 years, the Committee on Engineering Information of the World federation of engineering organizations (WFEO) did a large survey around the world, in order to better know the various experiences or realizations that exist in different engineering countries for the training of engineering students in the field of information management. The results of this work have been published by UNESCO in 1992. The present paper aims at presenting the main ideas of what could be an integrated approach of the introduction of information skills within engineering curriculae. He emphasizes some important concepts, such as the determination of information needs as a starting point or the role of information as a true pedagogical dimension. It presents also a general typology of the existing experiences, based on a two-dimensions analysis.  相似文献

At the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, future engineers and young workers are now being regularly trained in documentary and scientific research techniques. This training is original in the sense that it is mainly based on the practical notions of online research as a pretext for acquiring a more general cognitive view of problem-solving: knowing how to define a problem, specifying the problem's environment, defining the potential areas of resource for solving a problem, etc. In other words, online research is an approach to training engineers to be receptive to: system analysis, value analysis, creativity techniques, problem-solving, critical analysis. Training in online information research using this approach, becomes a synthesising educational activity. It reveals a lack in basic training and is at the same time connected to computer assisted teaching (CAT).  相似文献

From a historical view-point, university and industry have had a long experience of cooperation, with differing results according to the countries, the fields of knowledge or activity, and the particular period. During the last 10-15 years, new trends have appeared within society and one can observe changing roles, in education or in research. In the near future, new concepts and new schemes will be developed for better cooperation between higher education and industry: ‘co-formation’, responsibility-shared education, design of new programmes with a large part for sandwich courses, production of pedagogical resources, joint ventures for special educational programmes and systems ? As far as the partnership is concerned, more than in the past, university and industry have to explore new ways. It is a necessity for both.  相似文献
