This research studies the development of metacognitive skills in students of consecutive interpreting from German into Spanish. The purpose is to discover which self-regulating processes appear after introducing a specific pedagogical action based on metacognitive guides. Our hypothesis is that self-regulating activity will increase as work with the guides advances. We also analyse the changes which occur as the course progresses. The analysis of the corpus enables us to describe metacognitive activity in consecutive interpretation students and also to justify the introduction of a component of self-regulation in teaching andlearning processes. The research contributes to pedagogical development in consecutive interpretation since it sheds light on how to use effective teaching and learning patterns that can lead to self-regulation.  相似文献

The purpose of this article is to report on how Web 2.0 tools in an online information literacy instruction course aligned with ACRL's Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education. A qualitative case study was undertaken on an online graduate course related to information literacy instruction. Data collected included: course activities, assignments, emails, online discussions, and surveys. The educational theory of constructivism and its adherence to reflection, active learning, and social interaction was used to find patterns in the data. Activity theory provided a framework for data analysis and interpretation related to the patterns of activities that took place while students used each Web 2.0 tool. Web 2.0 was found to enhance all five information literacy standards. These standards related to collaboration, information organization, creativity, discussion, and technology education.  相似文献

The increasing importance of research assessment is but one factor within the ever-changing scholarly communication landscape that is challenging libraries to develop new services to serve the needs of their academic communities. Institutional budget allocations, grant funding, and faculty tenure and promotion increasingly depend on performance indicators, including bibliometrics such as citation counts, impact factors, the h-index, and other quantitative measurements of research output. With their longstanding expertise in collecting, categorizing, and analyzing data, not to mention their familiarity with scholarly databases and indexes tracking cited references, librarians are well qualified to meet the emerging demand for bibliometrics services.  相似文献

Abstract

This article aims to present preliminary data to validate and show the effectiveness of the educational programme Thinking emotions with a sample of children aged two years. To test its effectiveness, a sample of 57 children was selected. The sample was divided into experimental group (N = 38) and control group (N = 19). Participants were evaluated for overall development (Brunet-Lezine) and emotional understanding through two tests (AKT and TEC) before and after the implementation of the programme in the classroom. The tutors implemented the programme during school hours in weekly 45-minute sessions over six months. The results show significant advances in emotion understanding of children in the experimental group versus the control group. Results are discussed considering the implications of early education on emotions and the consequences on psychological wellbeing.  相似文献

This paper examines the struggles between the principles and structures of governance that centre around notions of welfare and inclusion and frequently contradictory aims based on arguments associated with economic rationality, productivity and performativity as dominant criteria for judging ‘success’. The discussion is extended and explored through an analysis of processes and practices involved in policy-making as it relates to the conflicting aims of ‘raising standards’ and reducing the exclusion of some learners from their local community schools on the grounds of disability or learning difficulty. It draws on selected material from a study of consultation and decision-making relating to the proposed closure of an all-age special school and analyses the use of discourse in two meetings to control agendas. There is a particular focus on the relationship between consultation practices and processes of selection which are normally hidden, and the implications of these for principles of democracy and transparency within the social reconstruction project of New Labour.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of Kinesio Taping (KT), alone or together with balance exercises (BE), on parameters related to postural control, such as dynamic balance, static balance and flexibility. Forty-four male amateur soccer players (mean age 24.45 (4.79) years) were randomly allocated to 3 groups: KT+BE that received KT and BE (n = 16); KTp+BE, in which the KT was used as a placebo (n = 15) and KT alone (n = 13). The intervention period lasted 4 weeks. Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT), Unipedal Stance Test (UST) and the Toe Touch Test (TTT) were assessed at baseline (pre), two weeks after beginning the treatment (mid) and after the intervention (post). We observed a significant improvement on the SEBT (mid and post-treatment) and the UST (post-treatment), but not on the TTT in either KT+BE or KTp+BE groups post treatment. No differences were found either in KT group at any time point or between groups in any variable studied. In conclusion, KT functional correction technique does not improve static and dynamic balance when applied alone, whereas BE alone or combined with KT significantly improves these variables. None of these techniques has any effect on flexibility.

Research Findings: Empathy, or the ability to understand what others are thinking or feeling, can be observed in early developmental stages. The purpose of this study was to validate the Spanish version of the Empathy Questionnaire (EmQue) and examine its longitudinal measurement invariance (LMI) at 2 time points. Parents of 103 children completed the EmQue when their children were 3 (M = 41.76) and 4 (M = 51.65) years old. Confirmatory factor analyses revealed that Grazzani, Ornaghi, Pepe, Brazzelli and Rieffe’s (2016) 3-factor model of emotional contagion (EC), attention to others’ feelings, and prosocial actions (PA) presented the best fit indices at both time points (Time 1: CFI = .931, TLI = .914, and RMSEA = .070; Time 2: CFI = .941, TLI = .935, and RMSEA = .064). Moreover, preliminary evidence was obtained for the LMI of this model. PA scores increased over time. Score reliability ranged from .60 (EC) to .83 (PA). Positive correlations were found between PA and emotional regulation at each time point and across time.Practice or Policy: The great relevance of empathy and prosocial behavior in academic achievement and psychological adjustment justifies the development of reliable instruments to evaluate these constructs from early ages.  相似文献
