In the post-1945 world, the international community has come to recognise the potential of education as a vehicle for promoting world peace. Development education emerges as a medium for such education. This article begins by exploring the idea that as the international position of a nation improves, it tends to become more conscious of the need to instruct its population about new international responsibilities and tries to put this concept into practice, especially at school level. Theorisation of the factors of context for the introduction of development education into schools is attempted on a comparative bases. The article then analyses the case of Japan. It argues that despite the fact that the factors of context for the introduction of development education were present in the mid-1980s, the introduction was delayed in Japan. 相似文献

This article investigates the relationship between globalisation and national cultural identity through Japanese educational policies for music. Japan is often referred to as a society that provides a model of cultural hybridisation that is a phenomenon in globalisation. However, what actually happened in Japan was not hybridisation, but the replacement of traditional music with western music in the process of the re‐construction of national musical culture. Even the recent state emphasis on Japanese elements in music teaching can be interpreted as no more than an attempt to further transform Japanese music culture so that it will resemble that of Europe. 相似文献

This paper presents a novel continuous fixed-time convergent control law for dynamic systems in the presence of unbounded disturbances. A continuous fixed-time convergent control is designed to drive all states of a multi-dimensional integrator chain at the origin for a finite pre-established (fixed) time, using a scalar input. The fixed-time convergence is established and the uniform upper bound of the settling time is computed. The designed control algorithm is applied to fixed-time stabilization of two mechatronic systems, a cart inverted pendulum and a single machine infinite bus turbo generator with main steam valve control. 相似文献

The paper discusses the experience in practising the video‐based distance education in Russia initiated jointly by the IACEE and the Bauman State Technical University. The structure of the East‐West Distance Education Project has been incorporated into the system of continuing education that existed in the former Soviet Union. The thirteen regional centres have been established in the universities and institutions of the Russian Federation and four other countries of CIS to train specialists needed for emerging market economy. Six video‐based courses of Western universities have been adapted and tested in the CIS educational environment and proved to be effective during the pilot phase of the project. 相似文献
