Abstract Cross‐border informal trade is one of the most important issues between India and Bangladesh. It takes place between people who live a short distance apart, but who find themselves separated by an international boundary. The people of international border areas believe that cross‐border informal trade is a process to maintain a sustainable livelihood because it provides a livelihood to the unemployed. This research has analysed the nature and impact of informal border trade between India and Bangladesh. It has highlighted the sources of security and insecurity through the process of informal border trade. It also analyses the different socio‐economic conditions of informal border trade in border trade prone areas. This research argues that although informal border trade is considered illegal, it is necessary for the maintenance of the livelihood for the poor in the bordering areas. The state failures in fulfilling the needs of the poor force them to involve themselves in informal border trade. 相似文献

Lymphocyte subset estimations by flow cytometry in population-based studies require transportation of samples from the field
site to the laboratory. As samples arrive late in the day they have to wait overnight before being processed. The effect of
two possible approaches, sample storage for 24 h before staining and immediate staining with analysis after 24 h and 48 h
were evaluated. Two sets of experiments were performed with EDTA (ethylenediamine tetra-acetate) anticoagulated peripheral
blood. In the first experiment, after collection, each sample was divided into two portions. One portion was stained at the
time of blood collection and the other 24 h later after keeping it at room temperature (38–45°C). In the second experiment,
blood samples were stained within 1–2 h. Each sample was analyzed immediately upon completion of staining process and subsequently
after 24 h and 48 h of storage at 4°C. Results suggest that blood collected in EDTA can be processed using whole blood lysis
method, after storage at room temperature (38–45°C) for 24 h with some but not significant alteration in T-cell subsets. Storage
at 4°C after staining for 24 h results in a lesser and insignificant loss of cells or alteration of T-cell subsets and may

AbstractPsychological resilience is important in sport because athletes must utilise and optimise a range of mental qualities to withstand the pressures that they experience. In this article, we discuss psychological resilience in sport performers via a review of the stressors athletes encounter and the protective factors that help them withstand these demands. It is hoped that synthesising what is known in these areas will help researchers gain a deeper profundity of resilience in sport, and also provide a rigorous and robust foundation for the development of a sport-specific measure of resilience. With these points in mind, we divided the narrative into two main sections. In the first section, we review the different types of stressors encountered by sport performers under three main categories: competitive, organisational and personal. Based on our recent research examining psychological resilience in Olympics champions, in the second section we discuss the five main families of psychological factors (viz. positive personality, motivation, confidence, focus, perceived social support) that protect the best athletes from the potential negative effect of stressors. It is anticipated that this review will help sport psychology researchers examine the interplay between stressors and protective factors, which will, in turn, focus the analytical lens on the processes underlying psychological resilience in athletes. 相似文献

This paper characterizes oscillations found in block pulse function (BPF) domain identification of open loop first-order systems with step input. A useful condition for occurrence of such oscillations is presented mathematically. Total thiol status of plasma, especially thiol groups over protein contributes maximum to the plasma antioxidant status of
the body. Serum protein thiols were found to be decreased in various disease conditions including chronic renal failure patients.
Only few studies determined the levels of urinary protein thiols in disease conditions. The current study was designed to
know the levels of urinary protein thiols in patients with different grades of proteinuria. The study was conducted on urine
of 40 healthy controls and 61 cases with proteinuria. Based on proteinuria cases were further divided into two groups; group
I - microproteinuria (150–300 mg protein/d), 32 cases, group II - frank proteinuria (>300 mg protein/d), 29 cases. Urinary
thiol levels were determined by spectrophotometric method using dithionitrobenzoic acid. A significant decrease (p<0.01) in
urinary thiol in group I and group II cases was observed in present study and this decrease was associated with proteinuria. 相似文献

This article describes a classroom tool to teach the impact of supply chain disruptions and mitigation strategies based on information sharing and collaboration. The tool is an adaptation of the Beer Distribution Game, is easy to play, and can be hosted online or on local servers. The game considers several scenarios based on the location of the disruptions (i.e., upstream or downstream) and the information available to supply chain partners. Students play the roles of managers who make ordering decisions in a serial supply chain and experience decision‐making under disruptions. 相似文献
