Crowdfunding for Video Games: Factors that Influence the Success of and Capital Pledged for Campaigns

Crowdfunding has become an important funding method for video game developments in the United States. Interestingly, video game crowdfunding projects have significantly lower success rates compared to other product categories. Recognizing this challenge, this study examines factors influencing the success of crowdfunding campaigns for video games. The analysis of 447 crowdfunding campaigns suggests that human capital, geography, media choice, and the intensity of media use influence the success of crowdfunding for video games.  相似文献

Constructivist teaching and intra-school collaboration among teachers in South Korea: an uncertainty management perspective

In an effort to understand how collaborative teacher interaction is contingent upon teacher characteristics and school-organizational contexts, this study conducts a series of hierarchical generalized linear modeling analyses based on a nationally representative sample of about 2,500 teachers across 149 middle schools in South Korea. The data are from the OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey 2008. The result from this study suggests that teacher collegiality may be understood largely as teachers?? collective effort to deal with uncertainties that arise from their approach to teaching as a constructivist endeavor to engage students in meaningful inquiry-based learning. This result is very robust as it holds after a range of other factors such as principal instructional leadership and teacher efficacy are simultaneously taken into account.  相似文献

To better understand the factors related to teachers' decisions to leave for jobs outside of education, the study employs a structural equation modeling approach to analyze data from two large national datasets from the National Center for Education Statistics. The focus on occupation switchers is unique, with most studies of teacher attrition failing to differentiate between teachers who leave by their reasons for doing so. Overall, our findings suggest that district- and school-level leaders concerned about keeping good teachers in the classroom can take steps to improve teachers' job satisfaction by enhancing salaries and the conditions in which teachers work. Forced to choose between these levers, administrators may be more successful in boosting satisfaction and reducing the rate by which teachers quit to take a job outside of education by focusing their efforts on improving working conditions.  相似文献
