In this article, the emerging field of youth ministry research is presented and interpreted through the lens of practical theology. International developments are described and compared as local responses to the ongoing global dynamics of youth culture. After an overview of four different contexts in which youth ministry research can be situated, the article discusses four thematic dimensions of this research: globalization, vulnerability, politics, and interreligious encounter. In the third part of the article these dimensions are theologically reflected in order to unravel four chances and challenges for future practical theological research.  相似文献

Over a period of more than 10 years Sir Robert Birley has often visited South Africa. This lecture on academic freedom was given in 1974 at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he was Visiting Professor from 1964 to 1967.? ? This lecture was first printed in Pro Veritate, March 1975. Pro Veritate is the organ of the Christian Institute of Southern Africa, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, to whose Editor, Mr. R. A. Before choosing to become involved with students who currently are abusing psychoactive substances, teachers must consider not only the potential consequences and payoffs to them professionally, but also what specifically they can do to help adolescents. This article presents some of the philosophical problems, and suggests potential solutions of how to relate to students who engage in potentially self-destructive, drug-related behavior. There is a need for teachers to become quasi-counselors and consultants, since they are the first line of defense against substance use and abuse.  相似文献
