There was a slow-relaxing tail of skeletal muscles in vitro upon the inhibition of Ca^2+-pump by cyclopiazonic acid (CPA). Herein, a new linearly-combined bi-exponential model to resolve this slow-relaxing tail from the fast-relaxing phase was investigated for kinetic analysis of the isometric relaxation process of Bufo gastrocnemius in vitro, in comparison to the single exponential model and the classical bi-exponential model. During repetitive stimulations at a 2-s interval by square pulses of a 2-ms duration at 12 V direct currency (DC), the isometric tension of Bufo gastrocnemius was recorded at 100 Hz. The relaxation curve with tensions falling from 90% of the peak to the 15th datum before next stimulation was analyzed by three exponential models using a program in MATLAB 6.5. Both the goodness of fit and the distribution of the residuals for the best fitting supported the comparable validity of this new bi-exponential model for kinetic analysis of the relaxation process of the control muscles. After CPA treatment, however, this new bi-exponential model showed an obvious statistical superiority for kinetic analysis of the muscle relaxation process, and it gave the estimated rest tension consistent to that by experimentation, whereas both the classical bi-exponential model and the single exponential model gave biased rest tensions. Moreover, after the treatment of muscles by CPA, both the single exponential model and the classical bi-exponential model yielded lowered relaxation rates, nevertheless, this new bi-exponential model had relaxation rates of negligible changes except much higher rest tensions. These results suggest that this novel linearly-combined bi-exponential model is desirable for kinetic analysis of the relaxation process of muscles with altered Ca2^+-pumping activity. 相似文献

A preloading frame is firstly designed to accurately apply external flexural stress to concrete specimens. Then a method is
developed to measure one and two dimensional (1D and 2D) chloride ion concentrations at different distances from the surface
of concrete under flexural stress. Using this method and the preloading frame, 1D and 2D stress-diffusion is systematically
investigated for fly ash concretes made with different fly ash contents (0%, 10%, 20%, 40%, and 60%), and water to binder
ratios (0.3, 0.35, and 0.4). The stress accelerating effect on 1D and 2D chloride ion diffusion is also quantitatively analyzed
through a comparison between stress-diffusion and nonstress-diffusion. A diffusion accelerating effect caused by external
flexural stress can clearly be observed through the comparison. In order to quantify the stress accelerating effect, a stress
accelerating factor is proposed in this paper. The relationship between stress accelerating factor and external stress-to-ultimate
stress ratio is given as an exponential function. Finally, the process of the initiation, prorogation, and distribution of
microcracks on the tensile face of specimen is observed in-situ by using a small-sized loading frame and scanning electron
microscope (SEM). The above research provides an insight into chloride attack on the edge reinforcing bars of concrete structures
under flexural stress, such as large-span beam and board in the field of civil engineering. 相似文献

Based on effective media theory, a predictive model, relating chloride diffusivity to the capillary pores, gel pores, tortuosity
factor, and pore size distribution of hardened cement, is proposed. To verify the proposed model, the diffusion coefficient
of chloride ions, the degree of hydration, and peak radius of capillary pores of cement paste specimens were measured. The
predicted results for chloride diffusivity were compared with published data. The results showed that the predicted chloride
diffusivity of hardened cement paste was in good agreement with the experimental results. The effect of the evolution of pore
structures in cement paste on chloride diffusivity could be deduced simultaneously using the proposed model. 相似文献
