The effectiveness of an innovative prepackaged learning approach for inservice training of employed rehabilitation counselors is analyzed. Thirty learning units consisting of tape recordings and supplementary reading material which could be used at the counselors' convenience constituted the learning package. Changes in counselor knowledge were measured by an information test developed for the study. The results, as indicated by a Type I analysis of variance of the overall program effects and an analysis of covariance of the individual learning units effects, suggest that a voluntary packaged instructional approach to the conceptual training of rehabilitation counselors appears promising, but greater effort is needed in developing the training materials if the program is to be effective. 相似文献

Sixteen counselor educators and counselors-in-training participated in a content analysis study that investigated supervisors' nonverbal behaviors in the supervision process. The investigation displays the high-to-low frequency of 21 identified nonverbal behaviors of supervisors and indicates a statistically significant association and consistency among the supervisors' nonverbal behaviors. It implies the applicability of these behaviors to counselor supervision and training, provides a methodological approach for the further investigation of nonverbal behavior in actual supervision and counseling situations, and suggests that counselor educators should not overlook these variables in systematic research or their influence in the supervision process with novice counselors. 相似文献

Paulo Freire's concept of conscientisation has been the subject of considerable debate since the early 1970s. The interpretation of conscientisation as a process of 'consciousness raising', whereby individuals move through a sequence of distinct stages, is widespread. This article critiques the 'stages' model and advances an alternative perspective on conscientisation. Rejecting an individualist view of critical consciousness, the author concentrates on the link between conscientisation and praxis, and reassesses Freire's ideal in light of the postmodernist notion of multiple subjectivities. 相似文献
