From the perspective of the strategy-based judgment, the present paper researched the process by which the reading of a Chinese character (kanji) is identified as On (reading borrowed from Chinese) or Kun (native Japanese reading). In these experiments, questionnaires containing a list of Chinese characters and their associated readings were printed, and subjects were asked to judge whether the reading given was On or Kun. Subjects were also asked to state the degree of confidence they felt in making this judgment. In Experiment 1, the survey consisted of characters which have only an On-reading. The correct rate and degree-of-confidence judgments from this test suggest that in deciding whether a reading is On or Kun, the strategy employed is If the reading for a character which occurs independently has concrete meaning, it is a Kun-reading; if the reading does not have concrete meaning, it is an On-reading. In Experiment 2, the questionnaire was made up of characters with multiple readings, both On and Kun. From the results of this latter experiment, it would appear that the strategy employed when a character has multiple readings is to reserve judgment regarding the On- or Kun-reading until after the various possible readings have been compared with one another. In addition, the results of these experiments suggest that the strategy employed differs depending on the number of readings that can be assigned to each character. When only one reading is possible, subjects make a judgment directly, but when multiple readings exist for a given character the subjects first compare the possible readings and make inferences; only when this process is complete do they apply a strategy to identify a reading as On or Kun. 相似文献

In this article, we describe the development and implementation of a project, “Our Leaders Are Us: Youth Activism in Social
Movements”, that we undertook with New York City high school students exploring events leading up to and following the Supreme
Court’s landmark decision in Brown. As part of a 50th anniversary celebration of the Brown decision, we designed a series
of three workshops that sought to extend urban students’ knowledge of Brown, segregation, and activism and to examine the
roles of young people in critical civil rights campaigns. In addition, we discussed with students the ways in which young
people can be involved in contemporary social movements and the strategies they can use to effect what they perceive to be
needed changes in their lives. Along with the researchers’ extensive field notes, the participating students completed questionnaires
throughout the project so that their understanding of Brown and related issues could be documented. Using our findings, we
suggest ways that educators can develop and implement similar programs for use in schools.

Recently in the UK there have been dramatic changes in the state provision of early years education and care, most notably the introduction of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority's ‘early learning goals’ in 1999 and ‘curriculum guidance for the foundation stage’ in 2000. Outlining the context in which these changes came to take place, this research begins to consider how we might understand children's experiences of this policy in practice in their reception year. Valuing children's potential as participants in research, a play‐based activity was designed to ensure that the process of generating data would be meaningful to the children as well as to the researcher. Analysis of the discourse highlights themes of early education that were of importance to the children. Further discussion of these themes offers insight into how concepts of work and play might be linked to the role of the adult‐in‐charge, potentially undermining opportunities for learning; and how concepts of the individual, normalisation and the individualised academic curriculum promoted by national policy stand opposed to a notion of community on which the children place great emphasis. 相似文献

宗教道德与社会主义道德是有根本区别的,但从一定意义上说,宗教道德作为一种精神文化现象,体现着人类某种共同的精神追求,是人类精神宝库中的一笔财富,是构建现代伦理不可或缺的精神资源。其当代意义是:第一,宗教道德中属于人——神关系的道德层次,实质是对人自身神圣意义的追求,应该努力挖掘;第二,宗教伦理中属于人与人、人与社会关系的道德层次,大都与世俗道德内容交叉,可以强化世俗道德信仰的力量,提升世俗道德的功能;第三,宗教伦理中属于人与自身关系的道德,强调的是人们的自律,在很大程度上规范教徒对自身责任和义务的认同与履行。 相似文献
