Abstract

The topic of work–life balance (WLB) has gotten a lot of attention in popular literature, but there has been little library scholarship on the issue. This exploratory study presents the perceptions of 329 academic librarians on what they believe an ideal WLB looks like, and how it impacts their personal and professional responsibilities. The authors asked about strategies for a successful WLB, about overall job satisfaction, coping strategies, and more. The study is intended to prompt discussions of the topic, and lead to an exploration of how to continue to grow and support a strong workforce.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among coaches’ authentic leadership and athletes’ psychological capital (PsyCap), performance satisfaction, and psychological well-being. The authors recruited 224 athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics in the United States. The results indicated that the authentic leadership of the head coaches positively influenced the athletes’ PsyCap levels. The enhanced PsyCap, in turn, positively influenced both performance satisfaction and psychological well-being. The interaction effect of student development was found in the relationship between authentic leadership and PsyCap. The findings contribute to an improved understanding of a head coach’s authentic behaviors in sport teams, and also illuminate how athletes’ performance satisfaction and psychological well-being can be augmented by PsyCap enhancement.  相似文献

[目的/意义]以超星移动阅读APP为研究平台,探索高校大学生移动阅读的感知价值结构维度,分析其对满意度和行为意向的影响,为移动阅读服务提供商提高服务质量提供参考和建议。[方法/过程]采取焦点小组访谈和深度访谈相结合的定性方法,分析移动阅读感知价值的结构维度,构建感知价值、满意度和行为意向的关系模型,以大学生为研究对象进行问卷调查,利用结构方程进行数据分析。[结果/结论]知识价值、便利价值和情感价值对满意度和行为意向具有直接影响,还通过满意度间接影响行为意向;社会价值对满意度和行为意向均不存在显著影响。从作用效应来讲,知识价值和便利价值是影响满意度和行为意向的主要因素。  相似文献

运用2016年京津冀城市居民体育健身休闲活动状况调查数据,采用文献资料法、数理统计法、问卷调查法等研究方法,分析体育锻炼活动、医疗消费、个人特征对居民自评性健康满意度的影响。研究结果发现:(1)性别、年龄、居住地、居住社区类型对居民自评健康具有显著影响。(2)体育锻炼活动对居民健康满意度具有显著的持续性的促进作用。(3)居民健康理念由"医疗手段"向"非医疗手段"转变。总体来说,中国居民疾病转型到慢性疾病,体育锻炼成为促进居民健康行为持续发生的重要手段。  相似文献

According to Self-Determination Theory (SDT), teacher motivation affects student motivation indirectly via teaching practices that support the satisfaction of students’ basic psychological needs, but studies have not shown evidence of this entire sequence. We tested the complete model: teacher motivation (autonomous, controlled, and amotivation) → perceived need-supportive practices (autonomy support, structure, and involvement) → student need satisfaction (autonomy, competence, and relatedness) → student motivation (autonomous, controlled, and amotivation) → student academic achievement. South Korean 5th and 6th graders (N = 697) and their 35 teachers participated in this study. A multi-level structural equation model showed evidence supporting: 1) a positive link between teacher and student autonomous motivation, and, 2) its mediation by student perceived need-supportive practices and student autonomy and competence. We discussed further conceptual and empirical consideration with the results..  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to assess and conceptualise the effects of new managerialism‐related organisational reforms in three Australian public universities on technical, administrative and clerical support staff job stressors and job satisfaction. Using a mixed method approach consisting of a quantitative core component and qualitative supplementary component it was found that six different types of stressors were evident: time, information; supervisory; work environment; staffing and pay; and career. Path analysis showed that these stressors were closely connected to reduced job satisfaction, which could be ameliorated by employee participation, improved communication and work‐related social support. However, the qualitative analysis suggested that the prevailing climate of managerialism was not conducive to such improvements. It is concluded that while appropriate human‐resource management strategies have the potential to prevent the worst consequences of change, there is some doubt about the ability of university managers, captured by new managerialism, to create and implement such an approach.  相似文献

Based on the perspective of Self-Determination Theory (SDT), this research examined the mediating role of teachers’ psychological needs satisfaction in explaining the relationships between perceived principal’s learning support and teachers’ work-related outcomes. Results from a convenience sample of 180 Singapore primary school teachers revealed that perceived principal’s learning support directly predicted psychological needs satisfaction (i.e. autonomy, competence and relatedness), change-oriented work behaviour and organisational commitment. Psychological needs satisfaction partially mediated the relationships between perceived principal’s learning support and change-oriented work behaviour as well as organisational commitment. The findings could contribute useful insights to teacher education and SDT research and practice.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Research shows that autonomous individuals have greater psychological well-being and high-quality relationships. The present study, from a communication perspective, aimed to understand the dynamics between child autonomy, communication competence, and parent-child relationship satisfaction. Participants in this study were 169 parent-young adult child dyads. Results showed that autonomous children reported being more communicatively competent, and both themselves and their parents reported greater satisfaction. Further, mediation analyses showed that child autonomy was positively associated with children’s satisfaction with parents through their disclosure competence, and child autonomy was positively associated with parents’ satisfaction with children through child conflict management competence. Overall, the findings revealed that young adult child being autonomous was beneficial to both themselves and their parents.  相似文献

通过分析实施中小型健身俱乐部顾客满意度测评的意义,并根据指标体系的制定原则,建立了长沙市中小型健身俱乐部顾客满意度测评指标体系,选取层次分析法作为测评方法,对长沙市中小型健身俱乐部进行顾客满意度调查与测评研究。结果显示,长沙市中小型健身俱乐部顾客满意度处于中等水平,顾客对个性化服务及服务价格两项指标的满意度比较低,且顾客对价格上涨幅度的承受力比较差,总体质量感知较低。  相似文献
