Educational psychologists’ practice: obtaining and representing young people’s views

Many studies have focused on the importance of the participation of children and young people (CYP) in their education, although fewer papers discuss the practical aspects of seeking their views and fewer again on representing them. A mixed method approach was used to collect information regarding educational psychologists’ (EPs’) practice in obtaining and representing CYP’s views. A questionnaire (n = 73) was used to gather data from local authority educational psychology services (EPSs) across Wales and eight participants who completed the questionnaire took part in an interview to explore their views in more depth. Using thematic analysis, the major themes constructed included “accessing a true representation of CYP’s views”, “gaining CYP’s views empowers them” and “child-centred practice”. The implications of the present study for the role of educational psychologists are discussed, together with future directions for research and the limitations of the present study.  相似文献   

Focussing the Teacher's Gaze: Primary teachers reconstructing assessment in self managing schools

As a result of the changes to school administration and curriculum in New Zealand over the last ten years, primary teachers have had to make significant changes to their assessment practices. This paper briefly reviews literature relating to the competing discourses of assessment that underpin teachers' practices and describes how the changes to New Zealand education have provoked a reconsideration of the balance between formative and summative assessment. It then reports findings from a qualitative investigation into how some primary teachers have attempted to accommodate these competing discourses and the effects these have had on their teaching practice. These results are discussed in light of the research literature and suggestions for changing national and school policies and practices to prioritise assessment for better learning over accountability conclude the paper. 能否创造出一种类似于音乐中的五线谱那样的舞蹈动作速记法,方便、准确、快速地记录与表达舞蹈动作,一直是舞蹈界所关注的一个课题。“舞蹈五线图谱”的灵感来源于摄影的快速暴光原理和机械制图中的三视图原理,它可以使我们对照节奏线、舞程线、运动线及脚位对舞蹈进行综合表达,具有一定的系统性、准确性和速记性。笔者已记录过几千张舞蹈记录,目前的速度可达8拍动作／10分钟。该“舞蹈五线图谱”已获发明专利。  相似文献
