Students taking a class together belong to a group where members typically develop a sense of connection to each other by engaging in mutual support and assistance through shared experiences and knowledge. Some have argued that the lack of face‐to‐face interaction precludes such processes and prevents the effective teaching of social work in an online environment. When online students were asked what they liked most and least about their classes, one‐third of the responses referred to ideas that reflected interactions among students and with faculty. These comments were evaluated in the context of Shulman's (1999) processes of mutual aid. This exploratory study suggests that despite a lack of face‐to‐face contact, mutual aid is relevant to online students and could be used to strategically enhance the delivery of course content in an online environment and facilitate a sense of connection among students. 相似文献

Mutual information is an important information measure for feature subset. In this paper,a hashing mechanism is proposed to calculate the mutual information on the feature subset. Redundancy-synergy coefficient,a novel redundancy and synergy measure of features to express the class feature,is defined by mutual information. The information maximization rule was applied to derive the heuristic feature subset selection method based on mutual information and redundancy-synergy coefficient. Mutual funds are usually classified on the basis of their objectives. If the activities of mutual funds are consistent with their stated objectives, investors may look at the latter as signals of their risks and incomes. This work analyzes mutual fund objective classification in China by statistical methods of distance analysis and discriminant analysis; and examines whether the stated investment objectives of mutual funds adequately represent their attributes to investors. That is, if mutual funds adhere to their stated objectives, attributes must be heterogeneous between investment objective groups and homogeneous within them. Our conclusion is to some degree, the group of optimized exponential funds is heterogeneous to other groups. As a whole, there exist no significant differences between different objective groups; and 50% of mutual funds are not consistent with their objective groups. 相似文献

This paper proposes novel multi-layer neural networks based on Independent Component Analysis for feature extraction of fault
modes. By the use of ICA, invariable features embedded in multi-channel vibration measurements under different operating conditions
(rotating speed and/or load) can be captured together. Thus, stable MLP classifiers insensitive to the variation of operation
conditions are constructed. The successful results achieved by selected experiments indicate great potential of ICA in health
condition monitoring of rotating machines.

“5．12汶川大地震”中,中小学生成为死伤人数较为集中的群体,中小学校舍成了重灾区的重灾点。学校教学建筑承载着重大的安全属性和政治属性,应当成为城乡建设规划的“特别保护区”。既往教育行政和公共财政对学校校舍建设管理过程中．重使用价值、轻安全价值的隐性缺憾在灾难中显性化。任何教育都比不上灾难的教育,它必将为公共决策提供坚实的依据。学校建设标准和防灾减灾常态教育有赖于国家的刚性立法。学校建设项目“安全第一”原则,绝不可因其它因素而降低执行标准,这也是考验政府公信力和行政力的必然要求。 相似文献
