Sexual Health Education in Massage Therapy Programs: A Survey of Program Directors

Massage therapy program directors completed an online survey to explore sexual education in massage therapy programs. The overall data suggest that program directors are supportive of sexual health education in the training of massage therapists and that such education is integrated into several aspects of their training programs. To enhance sexual health education, massage therapy programs could collaborate with specialists in sex therapy or sexuality education. Massage therapy training may need to include the following topics: working with clients who have been sexually abused, working with transsexual clients, understanding sexual arousal processes, and understanding dynamics between men and women.  相似文献

Higher education in the U.S. sees global learning as critical to student development. Over the last seventy years, study abroad has emerged as the method of choice for teaching global knowledge and intercultural competence. In this context, community-based global learning programs are a type of program where students live in communities to learn directly from people and place. Looking at a field studies program in Northern Thailand, this paper explores the educational mobility of study abroad and impact on host communities. It shares findings on the experiences of two communities who have hosted study abroad students for almost twenty years. Best practices and recommendations for faculty and institutions running community-based global learning programs are shared, including the centrality of community voice in curriculum, benefits of applying a range of pedagogical methods on course, the critical nature of adequately preparing students for cultural immersion, and compensating communities justly for their work.  相似文献

随着"双一流"建设总体方案的提出，科研成果越来越受到重视，高校图书馆开展学科评价服务，对于提升图书馆的服务和地位具有至关重要的意义。本文在分析了吉林大学2010-2016年发表的论文总体情况的基础上，选取论文发表总量前10名的学科为研究对象，运用文献计量学方法和马尔可夫模型分析方法，与传统的评价指标相结合，构建相应的综合评价指标，消除学科间的基础差异，分析得出各个学科的发展速度和发展趋势情况。  相似文献

SEA是以提高战略决策质量为目标的技术辅助工具,以标准化的程序方法模式来进行决策的环境影响识别、预测和评价,以物理环境的技术研究为侧重。然而,因为战略本身的复杂性和政治特征,有学者认为,SEA应该更侧重于提供不同利益团体共识达成的平台,在形式上具备对决策背景的可适应性和灵活性,不应该以标准化来僵化自身。有关两种模式的争论与目前学术界对工具理性、价值理性、非理性和交往理性的争论不无渊源。借用理性范式这个视角对SEA的两种模式进行深层思考,分析两种模式的各自长短之处,寻找互补的可能性,期望能够对SEA的发展提供可供借鉴的观点。  相似文献

重力位能及其重力浮力是大陆板块内部重要的构造变形动力.中国西部地区构造变形以垂向抬升、横向拉伸和压缩为主要特点，其重力位能及重力浮力分布，深刻影响着西部板内变形动力学机制.地震学和重力学方法计算表明中国大陆西部蕴藏较大的重力位能，其中青藏高原重力位能在2×1012～7×1012N/m之间.地壳重力位能变化导致的重力浮力，是板内变形的主要构造力.在一定流变学条件下，重力位能足以产生青藏高原活动地区的构造形变.  相似文献

人工智能产业创新能力与融资生态耦合演进——基于系统动力学视角

基于系统动力学视角构建中国人工智能产业创新能力与融资环境仿真系统,采用耦合协调度模型分析产业创新能力与融资生态的耦合演进阶段,并探索不同创新情景对融资环境耦合协调阶段的影响效果。研究结果表明:(1)中国人工智能产业创新能力与融资环境长期处于基本协调和中度协调状态,系统仿真结果预测将于2019年跨入高度协调。(2)创新能力的增量改变对系统耦合协调程度有不同程度的正向改善作用,创新资源的拉动作用最为显著,人工智能产业的生态情境依赖性决定了政府在对资金量总体供给进行适度引导的同时应避免陷入"政府干预陷阱"。  相似文献   

Factors affecting journal submission numbers: Impact factor and peer review reputation

Previous research has found that researchers rank journal reputation and impact factor (IF) amongst the key selection criteria when choosing where to submit. We explored the actual effect upon submission numbers of several possible factors. We retrieved 10 years of submission data from over a thousand journals, as well as data on IF, retractions, and other factors. We performed statistical analysis and identified correlations. We also undertook case study research on the 55 most significant submission decreases. We found a statistically significant correlation between changes in IF, ISI percentage ranking, and changes in submissions numbers in subsequent years. We also found a statistically significant effect on submission numbers in the year following the publication of a retraction. Our case studies identified other factors, including negative feedback on the peer review process. Our findings regarding IF confirm previous indications about the significance of IF on submissions. We explain the correlation with retractions through the concept of ‘peer review reputation’. These results indicate that editors and publishers need to focus on a journal's peer review practices, as well as a journal's IF, if they are to maintain and grow submissions.  相似文献
