Exercise but not metformin improves health-related quality of life and mood states in older adults with type 2 diabetes

The aim of this cohort study is to analyse the effect of three types of treatment: (i) exercise training with multicomponent exercise (E); (ii) pharmacologic treatment with oral hypoglycaemic drug – metformin (M); and (iii) a combined therapy – exercise and metformin (E?+?M) on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and mood states in older adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D) with comorbidity in an early stage of the disease. Participants (n?=?284) underwent 1 of the following 3 conditions: (i) E (n?=?59) trained three times/week; (ii) M (n?=?30) used 850?mg of metformin twice daily; and (iii) E?+?M (n?=?195) combined exercise and metformin. Furthermore, participants completed baseline and 2-year follow-up evaluations including a Shortform Health Survey 36, Profile of Mood States – Short-form, the health history questionnaires, anthropometric, and blood biochemistry. E and E?+?M revealed improved mood states, with large effect size on the vigour domain, and moderate effect size in the anger and total mood disturbance (TMD) domains (P?<?0.05), in comparison with the M group. After 24 months’ intervention, the E and E?+?M groups perceived better physical and mental HRQoL than the M group. The M group unchanged HRQoL domains (P?>?0.05). Metformin had no significant effect on the self-referred HRQoL in T2D participants aged above 60 years, in an early stage of the disease. The E and E?+?M were the most effective long-term therapies to improve mood states and HRQoL in older adults with T2D.  相似文献   

Associations among Attachment Style,Maintenance Strategies,and Relational Quality across Cultures

Previous research has suggested that attachment style is an indicator of relationship behavior and perception universally across cultures; however, research comparing the effect of attachment style on relational maintenance in culturally distinct societies is still non-existent. The present study investigated the effect of the secure or insecure attachment style on commonly used relational maintenance strategies and desired relational features in three geographically distant cultures: the US mainland, Hawaii, and South Korea. Results indicated that as predicted, regardless of culture, secure attachment style was associated with higher ratings of relationship quality (trust, commitment, liking, control mutuality, and satisfaction) and the self- and partner-perceived uses of Stafford and Canary's (1991 Stafford, L and Canary, DJ. 1991. 网络外部性下传统码头与自动化码头的博弈

为研究不同网络外部性下传统码头与自动化码头的博弈问题,建立基于网络外部性和码头服务质量的Hotelling模型,使用Nash博弈和Stackelberg博弈得出两种码头的最优定价、市场需求和市场收益这3个变量值。结果表明:在Stackelberg博弈下传统码头和自动化码头的这3个变量值均大于在Nash博弈下的这3个变量值。在码头服务质量差异化不变时,传统码头的市场需求与边际成本呈正相关,自动化码头的市场需求与边际成本呈负相关。在自动化码头网络外部性较小时,传统码头应提升自身服务质量;在自动化码头网络外部性较大时,传统码头不应提升自身服务质量。网络外部性使码头在选择定价时有更多空间,不再仅受码头位置和服务质量的影响。  相似文献

教师主体责任对大学生体育素质测评诚信影响的实证研究*

通过建立高校体育素质测诚信博弈模型,就教师主体责任对大学生体育素质测评诚信影响进行了实证研究。结果表明,影响大学生体育素质测评诚信的主要原因是学生自评、互评、早操及课外活动测评的不良后果和高校教师的主体责任。创建了教师主体责任意识与大学生体育诚信素养之间的联系,并在此基础上建立博弈架构的模型,这是以教师是否注重责任导向还是利益导向为基础的。就博弈模型理论分析而言,未落实主体责任,教师监督选择将从利益最大化向成本最小化转变,纳什均衡从作弊、不严格监督向不作弊、严格监考改变。最后提出落实高校教师主体责任提高学生体育素质测评诚信,包括落实高校教师在体育素质测评过程中的主体责任,降低大学生体育素质测评诚信问题的负面作用,提供大学生诚信价值观教育的主体力量及良好基础性条件。  相似文献
