This article shares experiences that participants had playing the game of STRATEGO and how the activity may be linked to strategic planning and thinking. Among the human performance technology implications of playing this game are that gamers agreed on a framework for rules, took stock on where they wanted to go in the future, and generated a risk plan. Players supervised their strategic process, checked the game's pulse, and gave a shot in the arm when necessary. 相似文献

One of the first areas to be limited in performance improvement or an educational project is the learner‐analysis phase. If done in a precise and purposeful manner, an effective learner analysis will begin the learner‐centered approach and then drive an impactful instructional design. This study has taken Tessmer and Wedman's (1990) layers‐of‐necessity model for instructional design and applied it to enhancing the needs‐analysis phase of instructional design. 相似文献

This exploratory qualitative study examines the decision‐making processes that organizational leaders used during the recent economic crisis. Specifically, it analyzes whether leaders used a discovery process (“thinking first”) or an idea‐imposition process (“seeing first”) to make decisions. In addition, the study examines whether leaders chose ready‐made solutions or developed custom solutions in response to the decisions that they made. Contrary to the results that were anticipated based on the decision‐making literature, research revealed that a majority of organizational leaders used an idea‐imposition process during the economic crisis, and leaders were evenly divided between ready‐made and custom solutions. 相似文献
