Trauma-informed sex education is sensitive to students’ traumatic life experiences. Internet panel data for 600 Louisiana parents/caregivers of school-age youth were used to examine parental support for trauma-informed school-based sex education, and parental characteristics associated with supporting trauma-informed sex education. Nearly three-quarters (71%) of parents agreed that youth are exposed to high levels of trauma, and 86% reported interest in school-based sex education that supports emotional wellness. Of all parental characteristics, the perception that youth are exposed to high levels of trauma was most strongly associated with endorsement of trauma-informed sex education. Louisiana parents recognize the influence of emotional wellness on youth sexual health and support trauma-informed school-based sex education, which is becoming the new standard for youth sex education services. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a novel optimal quality adaptation algorithm for MPEG-4 fine granular scalability (FGS) stream over wired network. Our algorithm can maximize perceptual video quality by minimizing video quality variation and increasing available bandwidth usage rate. Under the condition that the whole bandwidth evolution is known, we design an optimal algorithm to select layer. When the knowledge of future bandwidth is not available, we also develop an online algorithm based on the optimal algorithm. Simulation showed that both optimal algorithm and online algorithm can offer smoothed video quality evolution. 相似文献

下载免费PDF全文 One of the greatest challenges instructors face is getting students to connect with the subject in a manner that encourages them to learn. In this essay, we describe the redesign of our Developmental Biology course to foster a deeper connection between students and the field of developmental biology. In our approach, we created a community of scientific practice focused on the investigation of environmental impacts on embryonic development and informed by popular and scientific media, the students' own questions, and the instructor. Our goals were to engage students in meaningful ways with the material, to develop students' science process skills, and to enhance students' understanding of broad principles of developmental biology. Though significant challenges arose during implementation, assessments indicate using this approach to teach undergraduate developmental biology was successful. 相似文献

Obtaining funding to support community-based childbirth education programs can be a challenge for childbirth educators who may have little grant-writing experience. This article was written by two nurse educators/nurse-midwives who have been involved for over 10 years with a grant-funded parenting and childbirth education program for pregnant teens. It reviews the background of the Resource Center for Young Parents-To-Be, suggests grant-funding sources, and explains the building of partnerships in the community. The basic steps involved in the grant-writing process are presented as well as the importance of follow-up evaluations and reports. Grant-writing skills and the ability to forge partnerships with other community organizations can be important tools for childbirth educators and health-care professionals. 相似文献

在借鉴耕地非农化与经济发展Kuznets曲线效应的基础上,提出城市土地扩张与经济发展的Kuznets曲线效应假说,并以江苏省13个地级市为例进行验证。研究结果表明：①城市土地扩张与经济发展的Kuznets曲线效应不仅在理论上具有可能性,在江苏省13个地级市以及苏南5市、苏北5市的实践中也得到了验证;②苏南5市城市土地规模的稳定主要得益于经济发展的结构效应,符合其现阶段的社会经济发展特征,而苏北5市城市土地扩张的放缓可能与消除效应中的政策约束有关,或许不利于其当前经济的进一步发展;③受区位条件跳跃式优化的影响,苏中3市城市土地扩张与经济发展之间并未出现Kuznets曲线效应,城市土地仍处于快速扩张的阶段。对此,本文建议江苏省三大区域应实行“有保有压,保压结合”的差别化管控政策：苏南5市应以压为主,严格限制城市用地扩张,倒逼经济结构调整;苏北5市应压中有保,在保证耕地保有量的前提下允许城市土地适度扩张,以支撑未来一段时间内的经济发展;苏中3市尤其是南通市应保中有压,在给予较大的城市土地新增空间的同时,强化城市土地集约利用,落实耕地保有目标。 相似文献
