Optical microscopy, cross-section and fragment Micro-FTIR spectroscopic techniques along with microchemical tests were used for the identification of pigments in two different samples of an icon. Representing the Last Judgement, and painted by the Greek master Ioannis from the village of Kapesovo in the year 1771, the kneeling desk icon under investigation is a noteworthy contribution to the study of materials in post-Byzantine visual arts. The main components found in the ground layer of both samples were gypsum, beeswax and a proteinaceous material. Cinnabar, Prussian blue and cerussite were identified on the paint layers. The binding medium on the paint layers was weddelite. The materials used in the painting and ground layers were characterized in order to clarify the painting technique. Proteinaceous materials have been identified as binders for the pigments, indicating a tempera painting technique. 相似文献

A written questionnaire was used to obtain information regarding Greek kindergarten teachers’ personal views on the concept of Environmental Education (EE). The questionnaire was also designed to obtain the teachers’ views relative to a series of theoretical and methodological issues concerning the application of EE. It was ascertained that the prevalent conception of the kindergarten teachers includes the following: (a) it is directed towards a knowledge-centered type of EE, (b) it is primarily centered on nature and its protection in terms of EE content, (c) it aims not only to shape citizens willing to adopt environmental measures recommended by the experts, but who will also actively participate in social actions for the protection of the environment, (d) it favors learning procedures in the environment with field study activities, (e) it must be compulsory in the kindergarten level. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe present article contains a reanalysis of data resulting from a research project carried out on a group of five preschool-aged children. The data were collected from a class of 16 children participating in a pre/post research design that focused on the shadow formation phenomenon. The findings of the previous research project, based on a speech plus deictic gesture analysis, indicated that the five children had shown regression or no change in their reasoning. In the light of an embodied perspective into science teaching and learning, the current study examines whether we should use a bodily analysis to reassess the extent of knowledge about shadows among these five students. It demonstrates that most of the children selected improved their reasoning about shadow formation by using iconic gestures. Such conflicting results indicate that bodily expression has its own grammar and, to some extent, communicates a meaning that differs from that of verbal discourse. 相似文献

This article reports how a teaching strategy schematisation of concepts could influence the learning capability of third grade junior high school students. The teaching was planned and implemented within the framework of environmental education. A water module, water and its relationship with nature and contemporary man, was chosen for the teaching session. The study involved the participation of 171 third grade junior high school students (15 years of age), attending public schools in Athens and Thessaloniki. The sample was divided into an experimental group (N =84) and a control group (N= 87). The results of the investigation showed that the teaching strategy schematisation of concepts had a positive influence on the capability of junior high school students to structure: (a) causal relations of one link; (b) successive linear causal relations of more than one link; and (c) complex causal relations. 相似文献
