Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) has been recognised globally as key to helping young people assert their sexual and reproductive rights. In India too, there is growing awareness of the importance of providing CSE not only to reduce sexually transmitted infections, unintended pregnancies and abortions but also to teach important life skills. Simultaneously, lack of political will and conflicting interests among certain religious and political factions have ensured that no uniform CSE curriculum has been implemented throughout the country. This paper analyses the Adolescent Education Programme teacher curriculum as revised in 2009–2010 by the National Council of Educational Research and Training and the United Nations Population Fund. It highlights some of the opportunities presented by the curriculum and argues that despite its intent of providing relevant sexuality education for young people, the language of the curriculum is vague, thus potentially exacerbating confusion, and excluding people who do not conform to societal stereotypes of sex, gender, and ability. In order to be holistic, any CSE programme must be inclusive, cater to diverse needs and present content in a rights-based language without adding to the socio-cultural context of mystery and shame attached to sexuality. 相似文献

Necessary and sufficient conditions for reducibility of certain classes of multivariable polynomials are considered. The special case when a polynomial in that class can be factored into a finite product of single variable polynomials is investigated. A set of necessary and sufficient conditions for decomposing a multivariable p.r.f. into a sum of single variable p.r.f.'s is given. The Kalman filtering algorithm is used to identify a class of signals imbedded in high amplitude measurement noise. The considered class of signals is first modeled empirically as a nonlinear equation. The equation is then linearized and formulated as a Kalman filtering state estimation problem. Computer simulations yield excellent results for a variety of examples, a couple of which are presented in this paper. 相似文献

A resampling study was conducted to compare the statistical bias and standard errors of nonequivalent-groups linear test equating in small samples of examinees. Sample sizes of 15, 25, 50, and 100 were examined. One thousand samples of each size were drawn with replacement from each of 5 archival data files from teacher subject area tests. For each test, data files from 2 parallel forms were used. Results suggest trivial levels of equating bias even with small samples, but substantial increases in standard errors as sample size decreases. Results were interpreted in terms of applications to testing situations in which small numbers of examinees are available. 相似文献

Teacher education in India, including that offered by the open distance learning (ODL) system to thousands every year, imparts mainly pedagogic knowledge, although the need for integrated teacher education programmes has been underscored. As the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), an ODL institution, will develop an integrated Bachelor of Education programme for secondary-level teachers, a model based on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework has been proposed for developing and implementing it. The model takes cognisance of the systemic challenges to TPACK-based teacher education, but it does not envision radical changes in IGNOU’s teacher education framework for addressing these challenges. It includes propositions with theoretical underpinnings for redesigning the major components of the framework while retaining its basic structure. The model has been described in terms of its rationale, its structure and the way it envisages the progress of teacher trainees from a phase of learning with the help of self-learning material designed for imparting integrated theoretical knowledge to one whereby they apply such knowledge in simulated situations, and finally moving on to a phase of situated learning during internship. 相似文献

Genomic DNA from a clinical isolate ofMycobacterium avium-intracellulare complex was purified and cloned in PBR 322 at the tetracycline resistance site using Bam HI restriction enzyme. A 16 kb cloned
fragment was purified, radiolabeled and used as a probe. Genomic DNA isolated from nineteen MAC strains, threeM. tuberculosis strains and oneM. kansasii strain were digested with Eco RI restriction enzyme, Southern blotted and hybridized with the 16 kb cloned and labeled fragment.
Twelve MAC strains showed positive hybridization although five strains gave faint signals. Positive hybridization was noted
in two out of the threeM. tuberculosis strains, possibly due to shared DNA homology. No signal was received from the singleM. kansasii strain used in this study. 相似文献

The multivariable approach to the synthesis of networks composed of a finite number of uniform lossless transmission lines, commensurable or incommensurable, and lumped passive elements is verified by showing that the multivariable rational matrix, W(λ0,λ1, .. ,λn) is bounded real in (n + 1) complex variables if and only if W is bounded real in p after substituting, λ0 = α0p + β0 and λi = tanh (αip + βi) for λi (1?i?n) where all the α's and β's are nonnegative and arbitrary, except for being not simultaneously zero in like indexed pairs.
