Solution of the two-dimensional heat equation for a square in terms of elliptic functions

In this study, an alternative method is presented for the solution of two-dimensional heat equation in a square region. In this method, the solution function of the problem is based on the Green function, and therefore on elliptic functions. The numerical results have been computed for an application example and compared with the results of the well-known method of separation of variables and the finite elements method. The comparison study shows that the present method gives better results than those of the other methods.  相似文献   

On dynamic behavior of a hyperbolic system derived from a thermoelastic equation with memory type

In this paper, we study the Riesz basis property of the generalized eigenfunctions of a one-dimensional hyperbolic system in the energy state space. This characterizes the dynamic behavior of the system, particularly the stability, in terms of its eigenfrequencies. This system is derived from a thermoelastic equation with memory type. The asymptotic expansions for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are developed. It is shown that there is a sequence of generalized eigenfunctions, which forms a Riesz basis for the Hilbert state space. This deduces the spectrum-determined growth condition for the C₀-semigroup associated with the system, and as a consequence, the exponential stability of the system is concluded.  相似文献

Approximations to the solution of linear Fredholm integrodifferential-difference equation of high order

There are few techniques available to numerically solve linear Fredholm integrodifferential-difference equation of high-order. In this paper we show that the Taylor matrix method is a very effective tool in numerically solving such problems. This method transforms the equation and the given conditions into the matrix equations. By merging these results, a new matrix equation which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equation is obtained. The solution of this system yields the Taylor coefficients of the solution function. Some numerical results are also given to illustrate the efficiency of the method. Moreover, this method is valid for the differential, difference, differential-difference and Fredholm integral equations. In some numerical examples, MAPLE modules are designed for the purpose of testing and using the method.  相似文献

设图G=G(V,E),令函数f:V→{-1,1},f的权w(f)=∑v∈Vf[v],对v∈V,定义f[v]=∑u∈N[v]f(u),这里N[v]表示V中顶点v及其邻点的集合。图G的符号控制函数为f:V→{-1,1}满足对所有的v∈V有f[v]≥1,图G的符号控制数γs(G)就是图G上符号控制数的最小权,称其f为图G的γs-函数。研究了C2n图,通过给出它的一个γs-函数得到了其符号控制数。  相似文献
