The present study explores Finnish preservice subject teachers’ perspectives and experiences with movement integration in academic classrooms. In the study, 44 subject teachers applied an integrated approach to infuse physical activity into a required teacher-preparatory course. The program’s framework is the constructivist learning approach. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations and field notes. The findings show that movement integration was a new concept for the preservice teachers and that their experience positively influenced their beliefs regarding the use of that concept in academic lessons. Thus, it is possible to support implementation of movement integration into secondary academic classrooms. 相似文献

Six years have gone by since the passing of No Child Left Behind (2002) and due to the ‘high-stake’ riders attached to this legislation, educators at all levels have found themselves in
a state of both emotional and cognitive dissonance. Recent research in the field of neuroscience combined with principles
gained from constructivism support the importance of developing and implementing both a child-centered curriculum and a positive
learning environment that is appropriate for young children. This paper addresses some of the difficulties that arise from
the No Child Left Behind act and teaching from a constructivist model. Additionally, positive suggestions are provided for the early childhood educator

of the classroom activities and journal entries of 13 teacher-participants in the Basic Education Curriculum core learning
areas is included. Findings reveal that the subject participants’ pedagogical practices still verging toward the formal suggest
a traditional inclination. However, the importance of change should be realized. Various concepts of teaching and learning,
today, are imperative. Teachers must be resocialized on their new roles and make their students have a more active role in
