How can pre-service primary teachers' perspectives contribute to a pedagogy that problematises the ‘practical’ in teacher education?

This study examined pre-service primary teachers' perspectives on teaching and learning experiences within college-based courses in ‘practical’ subject areas within a teacher education programme. Following three individual lectures (one each in art, music and physical education), pre-service teachers (n=11) participated in focus group interviews sharing their perspectives on the teaching and learning experiences. These data were analysed thematically and supported by teacher educators' (n=3) planning and reflection documentation. Although the problematic nature of the ‘practical’ suggests appeal and peril of the ‘practical’, the important nature of negotiating the ‘practical’ to enhance student learning is apparent. Students emphasised the value of practical engagement and expressed a strong preference for working in groups to create a safe learning environment to develop confidence and competence. These insights suggest key aspects of a pedagogy of teacher education in these ‘practical’ areas. The importance of being aware of and, in some cases, challenging student perspectives on how they learn best in these curricular areas is discussed.  相似文献

美国当代著名作家唐·德里罗的小说《白噪音》艺术地再现了后现代美国人的生存环境和生存状态。美国消费社会建构的三个关键领域——媒介影像、消费行为和大众文化,成为美国后现代社会的景观。《白噪音》展示了后现代美国社会的两大消费行为——看电视和购物,同时,揭示了美国大众文化甚至学术研究也趋向商业化。这些异化消费使得人们丧失了主体性,陷入了精神空虚、焦虑、孤独与异化,并导致垃圾激增、环境污染和生态灾难。  相似文献

乡村旅游是推动我国农村经济发展的重要动力。通过对汝城县益将乡基层政府工作人员进行关于乡村旅游认知的问卷调查发现,总体上对开展乡村旅游的认知比较高,但个体间的分歧比较大。可见,我国贫困地区开展乡村旅游的条件已经基本成熟,乡村旅游品牌意识、资源保护意识增强。但在我国贫困地区开展乡村旅游尚须:(1)加强农村环境的整治,打造乡村旅游大环境;(2)规范政府行为,转变政府职能;(3)坚持社区参与,保障农民利益;(4)加强对乡村旅游管理,建设和谐乡村。  相似文献

生态需水研究是目前生态学和水文学、水资源学研究的热点领域.植被生态需水研究不仅是其中的重要研究内容,而且对于指导区域植被生态恢复与生态建设也具有重要意义.本文在调研有关研究文献的基础上,对植被生态需水的概念与内涵、计算方法进行了分析.认为植被生态需水是指为了保证植被生态系统能够健康维持,并确保其生态服务功能得到正常发挥而必须消耗的一部分水量.在区域植被生态需水量的计算中,最关键的是对单位面积、单位时间内某一植被类型生态需水定额的确定,目前常用的计算方法多是基于农业气象学原理的直接计算法.  相似文献   

Teachers' perspectives on environmental education in multicultural contexts: Towards culturally-responsive environmental education

This inquiry explores teachers' perspectives on enacting environmental education in a Québec urban locale with high student diversity. Participating in focus groups and interviews, teachers from three schools discussed their experiences incorporating environmental education into their multiculturally-diverse classrooms. Challenges included value clashes, a lack of common lived experiences, and reconciling contradictory educational perspectives and political policies, which often placed teachers in paradoxical positions. Findings suggest moving toward practices of culturally-responsive environmental education that demand more than awareness but include interactive dialogue. Teachers need support from beyond the classroom and the capacity to develop curriculum facilitating the inclusion of students' culture.  相似文献
