| Abstract: | The controversy about whether the second person exists results from different definitions of person. The key point is to take observation-point as the essence of person or to take appellation as the symbol of person. Observation-point and appellation have their respective function and applying field in the study of literature. A better definition has been put forward in this paper to settle the controversy and let each play its own role. |
