| 摘 要： | 德莱塞是美国自然主义文学的杰出代表，他用自然主义文学创作手法开创了美国文学的一个新时代。德莱塞视客观真实为创作的最高法则，突出人物的生存意识和欲望本能。强调环境对人物的决定性作用。他的《嘉莉妹妹》就是其自然主义特征的一个范本。

| Abstract: | As an outstanding representative figure of the American naturalist literature, Dreiser creates a new era of the American literature by writing in naturalist style. He regards objectivity and reality as the best creative rule, gives prominence to living consciousness and desire instinct, and emphasizes the decisive role of the environment. Based on Sister Carrie, this paper has an analysis and appreciation of naturalism. |
